Yes! The friends & family thing! We stayed in an Airbnb in Aguada & our host family made us a part of their family since we were there so long! They have been instrumental in our love for PR & where we plan to settle when we move there in May! I seriously moved there in my heart & spirit when we first visited in Aug but my body is unfortunately still living in the Midwest until we can tie up loose ends & our family officially moves there in May! We love PR too!!

So many things to love about Puerto Rico... first and foremost are the people...very friendly. Definitely love the beaches...you can find a beach for anything...surfing, snorkeling, relaxing. Old San Juan is amazing. Spent more time there on my last trip, and so glad I did. Can't wait to get back down there!

Excelente video.

I know this is going to sound crazy, but 1 thing i love the most is driving here on the island. It feels like freedom. I do not worry about getting pulled over every 30 seconds. I know that is because the cop would get cut off ten times on his way to pull you over by some other driver, but comming from seattle where the tickets flow like rain, i like it here.

Started following you guys very recently and I love your videos specially those about Puerto Rico. I'm glad you love the island. Love everything you’ve mentioned. I visited my family recently and there are very good vegan restaurants popping up. The fruits are amazing on the island. My favorite place is Rincón, very vegan friendly 💚🌱 Maybe you already know this but, when getting bread from panaderías get pan de agua. El pan sobao esta hecho con manteca de cerdo.

I started watching you guys about 2 weeks ago. I only had stuff from about 2years until 6 months ago. At first you seemed so much like tourists. I remember when I saw that you found two dogs and tried to find an their owners And you guys walking all over like "frogger" I didn't think you would still be here. I'm from Iowa my name is Todd I've lived in naguabo PR for more than 20 years a small urb on highway 3 km 69.9 called tropical beach. I was vegan for over 15 years. I love the panadarias and all of the other things you mentioned. Its nice to see that you have transitioned from being so touristy to having friends and really living in pr like its you home. I would like to invite you to naguabo so I can share what I know about the east side #10 tropical beach Todd. Good luck with your adventure

Aww I love this list! It makes me want to make my own video and add a few! One note on this list, I would say that Family comes first for sure. But for friends it takes a long time to make those "family-like" connections and get truly into the fold like family. You didn't comment much on the food, how do you like it overall?
@glorisol265 жыл бұрын
I didn't hear you guys mentioning any type of puertorican food...ha, ha, ha...I guess food is out! I love the arroz con gandules, pasteles, guineítos en escabeche, el mofongo (relleno de pescado). I also love fried stuff like tostones, alcapurrías, bacalaítos. Have you guys tried the Piña Colada at the place where it was created, Barra China in Old San Juan?
@ZimVader-00175 жыл бұрын
I would like to see their reaction to the pasteles since they're so similar to tamales. I have a very funny anecdote with the gandules. One of my university professors is Peruvian and apparently gandules are considered animal feed in Latin America. He said that when he learned about arroz con gandules he was confused and a bit weary, but he tried it anyway and said that he was surprised with how delicious it was.

Here are a few things to look up on youtube to see if they are of your liking.. Castle El Morro (San Felipe del Morro) take the tour and wander around on your own its very big so dress comfortably. The Bacardi factory tour. The rain forrest (El Yunque). Great beaches everywhere one unusual one is Mar Chiquita beach in Manati, The Arecibo radio antenna dish as seen in many movies, The Camuy caves has a cave tour. The Ponce museum of art is awesome. If you see casual mom and pop restaurants with food under a heat lamp, its really good. These are just my opinion but those who have seen these would surely agree. Traffic may be heavy just go with the flow ..
You two are amazing, you work soooooooo.hard. Thanks so much for highlighting PR. ..very few do...p.s. still hoping PV could join Canada. Just sayin😊

Wow - it sounds perfect! I don't suppose you know what it's like for gluten free food? I'm Coeliac so it's always tricky thinking about travel, as it's hard enough finding places to eat in the UK, let alone abroad. I imagine if it's not something you have to worry about yourselves then you probably haven't noticed one way or the other, but it would be great to find out from 'locals' if you do know! Thanks so much.

We use pounds and inches 99.99999% of the time. For some reason, some roads stuff is in km, dont know why.
@ismaele.carreras43885 жыл бұрын
It's a mix of imperial and metric. Distances are in kilometers but heights are in feet and inches. You buy gas in liters but the speed limits are shown in miles per hour. Air temperature in a weather forecast is in Fahrenheit but your air conditioning units might set the temperature in Celsius.
