You should make an A to Z conversation guide of arriving to an airport in Mexico, finding your luggage, getting your luggage, asking where the taxis or busses are and how to order one, and then how to give your destination to your driver and also how to pay them and check into your hotel.

Je parle Francais. I've studied French. Sleep in French is also dormir but, it has to be broken down into the correct conjugation. In French you would say, Je dors(I sleep), tu dors(you sleep), il/elle dort (male/female sleep). I forgot nous and vous but I remember ils/elles dorment (they sleep masculine/they sleep feminine).

Another awesome video. Regarding "cuánto cuesta", Years ago I remember going into a bookstore in Mexico (Tijuana) and asked the attendant "cuánto cuesta" and she replied "¿cuánto vale? and then proceeded to tell me the price. It means the same thing, but it threw me off for a second as it was the first time I heard that expression, so don't be surprised if you hear that at some point as well.
@SpanishandGo6 жыл бұрын
Hey, Rodney! You're right! Some people even say "¿Qué vale?" and that's even more confusing for someone who is just starting to learn the language. I've probably used "¿cuánto vale?" only like 5 times in my life. I'm more used to saying "¿Cuánto cuesta?" or "¿Qué precio tiene?" Have you used or heard "¿Qué precio tiene?" before? Thank you so much for watching and commenting with your experience! -May
@rodneyspanish6 жыл бұрын
Wow, I've never heard "qué vale". I've heard "cuánto vale" so much so that I use it frequently in Mexico. But it may be a very be a regional thing. Although I don't think I've ever heard it outside of Mexico. I don't hear "¿Qué precio tiene?" very often, but I have heard it. I'm gonna have to make it out there to meet you guys some day. :) Although I've been to a few places in Mexico, I only know Tijuana and the surrounding towns fairly well, but I really want to get to know the rest of Mexico, Oaxaca, Guanajuato (A friend of mine owns a Spanish School there, en la mera cuidad Guanajuato) and Veracruz. 2019 or 2020 will be my year to focus heavily on travel throughout Mexico. Are you guys are in Guanajuanto? I can't remember.

This is great! I have two questions if you happen to read this. 1) would it be acceptable to use the formal versions for anybody I don't know, regardless of age? Or would that be considered rude? 2) are these universal across all Spanish speakers? My understanding is there are differences between some of the countries' dialects. I'll be in Argentina, Uruguay and Chile next year.
@SpanishandGo3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! To answer your questions: 1. Yes. It’s better to err on the side of too formal than to informal. 2. These are mostly universally understood phrases, but some may be more common in Mexico. Every country has its own slang or preferred vocabulary, but there are all a great starting point until you start making friends in those countries. I hope that helps! -Jim

If you really want to learn the real Spanish that will get you respect in Spain learn Spanish from a Puerto Rican because our language is very close to the Spanish they use in Spain...
@Inspirator_AG1122 жыл бұрын
I looked up Spanish-related videos to X-post this Comment. *Observations:* Suffixed words will typically be spelled identical up the the suffix in Spanish, but will have the spelling changes below. The suffix is the main thing that changes. [Double letter] (Exception of R and sometimes C) → [Single letter] ae → e ch (K-sound) → qu (Sometimes c) ch[Consonant] (K-sound) → c[Consonant] ph → f qu → cu rh → r s[Consonant] → es[Consonant] (At the front) sc[e/i] (At the front) → c[e/i] th → t ti (Sh-sound) → ci y → i Verbs that have an -ation form will have the stem of their Spanish infinive spelled identical with the exception of those spelling changes, but they will end in -ar (Examples: citar, explorar, filtrar, inicializar, observar). The following suffix changes are very consistent. -al → -al -ant → -ante(s) -ent → -(i)ente(s) -ar → -ar -ary → -ario -ate (Adjectives) → -ad[a/o](s) -ate (Nouns) → -ato -ate (Verbs)→ -ar -ize → -izar -cle → -cul[a/o] (Leading vowels could obtain accent marks.) -ic → -ic[a/o](s) -ify → -ificar -ity → -idad -ive → -iv[a/o](s) -logy → -logía -ly (Adverbs) → -mente -ory → -orio -ous → -(os)[a/o](s) -sion → -sión -tion → -ción -try → -tría If other forms of a word contain suffixes, then large parts are probably spelled indentical in Spanish.
