I fall in love with the sound of spanish language. So that I chose it as a second foreign language to learn. Now I finished the first year of my studies at the university and by the time of graduation, I want to be able to speak five languages (english, Russian, spanish, italian, French) fluently. But I literally lost my motivation and most of the time I feel tired of studying. I am not as determined as I used to be while I was learning English. But day by day I am spending reasonable amount of time for learning spanish. Hope I will be able to manage mastering it. Good luck everyone and to me too! :)

The format is good. And it is a good idea to break down the dialogue into parts, write the phrases and their English translation. But why don't you do the same for the answers. I learned to speak Dutch when I was an exchange student in the Netherlands for 12 months. I am learning Spanish now, without the luxury of living in a Spanish speaking country. One thing I will never forget: To my (host family) sister I once complained that it's hard to learn Dutch because everyone talks too fast. She told me: "No. You listen too slow.". It's true. I then changed to trying to hear and understand concepts rather than breaking down every sentence. Once I stopped trying to break down every sentence word by word and focused on the concept, I could "hear" what they were saying. Listening more, I could get the proper response. I'm hoping it works with my Spanish lessons now. I'm WAY older and not submersed like I was then. Here's hoping!
@hannofranz79732 жыл бұрын
It seems you have some experience in learning languages. It is also an interesting comment and there is some truth in it. I'm quite slow at assimilitaring information but fast when it comes to speaking. Con el español ya no tengo tantos problemas a este nivel. Claro, llevo viviendo casi 30 años en el país. Met mijn nederlands is het een beetje moejljker de mensen te verstaan omdat i niet zo vaak de taal kan luisteren maar ik spreek ook sneller dan ik begrijp.

@SpanishandGo6 жыл бұрын
Yes, they’re deliberately trying to confuse you! 😆 But seriously, Spanish is one of the fastest languages in the world, and we try to show you what real Spanish sounds like in the least confusing way possible. We do that by offering subtitles in Spanish and English, as well as pointing out the often-overlooked speed adjustment setting in the KZbin video player. Thanks for watching and commenting! ¡Saludos! 😊 -Jim
@gretchenhangleton96036 жыл бұрын
Oh god, I know many spanish-speaking people; I do realize they actually speak that quickly! I guess I'm saying I find it culturally interesting that in N.A people will not follow you at all if you speak at even half that speed. As far as the KZbin speed setting, I have tried that periodically but I find it warps the sound considerably, which is something of an encumbrance when learning the specific pronunciation of a different language.
@SpanishandGo6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the input! You’re right, the speed setting does warp the sound a bit. As content creators, it can be hard to strike the right balance for an audience. I’ve seen comments on other channels criticizing the creator for speaking too slowly when teaching Spanish. We hope the captions help you! Thanks again for the feedback. We’ll keep that in mind for future videos. -Jim
@Lousysalsero6 жыл бұрын
Spanish and Go In my opinion (as a language teacher, not Spanish) every language spoken by natives seems (too) fast as a learner, in the beginning. Fellow-students in my Italian class have exactly the same complaint and then you should try the Danish news channel e.g.... It is because you don't realise this, only when learning the language are you confronted with this and baffled by it. Don't be discouraged, however, look for 'slow Spanish' in the search engine and short easy texts and conversations to start with and as a transition to longer, faster and more complicated pieces. Also, songs in your target language with "lyrics" at the same time may help, as songs are normally not sung that fast. Success!
@barbosamada6 жыл бұрын
HEY FRIEND! I hope that helps. Believe, the more natural they speak the language, the best. In real life is quite hard to understand if you're not prepared. So give your best, study and repeat the sentences after them, it will be so much better with time! Abrazos

She is talking at a moderate pace. Some countries like Puerto Rico, Spain and Chile talk much faster. Listening is the most important and difficult skill to develop. It's essential to watch videos (preferably 2 minutes or less at first), movies, etc in Spanish without English subtitles (Spanish subtitles are a good learning aid for a while).

¡Hola Hadjer! Thank you so much for your comment! It is great that you want to re-start learning Spanish! We recommend watching lots of videos and movies in Spanish because developing an ear for the language is the most important thing you can do. Think of when you learned your first language as a baby. You didn't have to worry about grammar or memorizing lists of verbs, right? The same is true for learning any new language. Get used to listening and speaking and worry about grammar later. You can also check out the "Learn" section on our website where we share lots of tips and tricks to help you improve Spanish. Helpful and interesting. Advice: careful that if a compliment is motivated only to engage the person it matter not to YHWH that it's sincere. Rather than engage or ingratiate by complimenting the person or things that inspire pride in that person one can compliment the weather or something else having to do with nature. This kind of praise can follow with praising The Creator and lead to insights about the person and can continue with conversations about science, creation, etc

@SpanishandGo3 жыл бұрын
Hey, D! Thanks for your comment and feedback. We understand the dialogue can be difficult to keep up with sometimes, but there's a reason we do it that way. We don’t slow down because this is how fast you will hear people speak when you travel. There are a few options we've made available to help you: 1. Turn on closed captioning. We have English and Spanish captions available for most of our Spanish lessons. On a desktop or laptop computer, just click the “CC” button in the video window. On mobile click the three vertical dots to see your options. 2. You can set the video speed to play slower or faster under the video options in the video window. 3. You can always re-watch the video or a certain part of the video. We usually leave a table of contents in the description so you can jump to different parts of the video. 4. We have blog posts that go along with most of our Spanish videos. There you can find the phrases we used in the video. You can find the article for this video here: spanishandgo.com/learn/small-talk-in-spanish?format=amp I hope that helps. Thanks for watching! -Jim

Thanks, Danielle! We appreciate the feedback. We’ve added subtitles in Spanish and English to help cover the parts we didn’t explain specifically. We try to focus on the most important parts so that the video doesn’t end up being a half hour long. 😆 but we will have more like these in the future. Thanks for watching! ¡Saludos! -Jim

Hi, thank you for such a video. I want to be a good student that I can at least understand to communicate even slowly and understand others. This video will help me first learn the alphabets, although I'm getting a headache with it! ( Spanish language seems interesting to me. It is a mixed word of French, Arabic, Portugal and the Native, although no one agrees with me.)

que padre means cool?
@SpanishandGo6 жыл бұрын
Yes, but it's a very Mexican way of saying "cool." The word "chido" is also used for "cool" in Mexico. In Spain they say "guay" and in many other Latin American countries they say "chevere." Thanks for watching! -Jim
@diegoperezreyes83886 жыл бұрын
@@SpanishandGo We use "cool" here in Mexico too. Yes and no, "Padre" has different meanings (including "Father") for example you can use it in phrases like "Está padre" or "Que padre" which are used in different situations, but they essetially mean that something/someone is great/cool/good. Spanish slang changes a lot with pronunciation, sometimes it gets really hard to tell what the mean tho

Yes, but is common just in Mexico...; in other countries have different expressions with the same meaning.

Sometime like, do you like to go out with me? In spanish .. te gustaría salir conmigo? You are beautifull. Eres hermosa, eres linda. I like your smile, me encanta tu sonrisa. O me gusta tu sonrisa. I can take your hand? Puedo tomar tu mano? Eso fue lo que se me ocurrió. 😃

@@brajhanespiritu360 pardon me but I have a question and I was wondering if you could help me...so the question is they said como te llama's means what's your name but I'm learning Spanish on a different channel and it says that it means cual es tu nombre, is there various meanings I guess what I'm asking is if this is right correct because some people in the comments some are Spanish themselves and they say it's right but I just want to make sure I'm leading the right way. I have a notebook with tons of phrases with the words that channel is saying and if it's wrong I'm gonna be pissed off x
