Do you know the difference between Tú and Usted? If your mother tongue is English, we don't blame you for not understanding the difference between Tú and Usted. You have no means for comparison!
Did you know that you should use Tú if you're in an informal context?
Those informal contexts are... You are talking with your family, your friends and people within the same age.
The formal contexts are... Speaking with a professor/teacher, with your boss or a person much older than you.
But that's not the only difference. Using Tú vs Usted means using different persons in the verb. Tú implies using the verbs in the second person and Usted implies using the verbs in the third person. Big difference!
So, remember, use Tú if you're in a relaxed context. And Usted if you're in a more serious environment. But take into consideration that some people may request that you treat them in a more informal manner. When this happens you will hear "puedes tutearme" (=you can tutear me). In other words, the person is requesting that you use the Tú form when addressing him or her. Generally, people will request this when they want you to feel more comfortable or when they want to feel a little younger!
