Very well done. Now need to change the swing on the entrance door. I added a urinal beside my sink. Best decision I ever did. 🤩Thanks

Wheels instead of drawer glides were genius! Better to have wheels than super expensive 3 or 4 ft glides. Great video, thanks!
@robt2151 Жыл бұрын
Agreed on the wheels in principle but placing them as he has he has lost a lot of drawer width and gained only a little effective height. The optimum would be to place the wheels inside the drawers with half the wheel diameter protruding through small slots in the corners.

You've just given me an idea! Like the industrial look and those boards are really fit for purpose.

is there any reason you haven't reversed the door, so that it opens to the wall, rather than to the room? it would make it easier to access the light switch, and would reduce dead space. as well as just making it a bit easier in general.
@cv990a4 Жыл бұрын
Yep, that would improve the usability of the entryway tremendously for (presumably) not a lot of work. Vacuuming/etc under the platform is not going to be fun.

I will replace the door (its rotten aswell, so no point in keeping it) currently working on a design 😉

The raised platform makes an obvious "keep clear" zone against the wall. I've see shops where stuff gets piled against every wall.
@SpareTimeShop Жыл бұрын
That's the idea! since it's right next to the entrance. No place for junk 😉

Add a little step platform to the bottom of those drawers, so you can pull them out for easy overview with a foot instead of having to bend down (:

why dont you rehang the door so it opens against the wall

So the second floor is called the first floor? Is the ground floor not the 1st floor? I have been confused about this.
@King_Springmeyer Жыл бұрын
Question why is the floor above the shop considered the first floor since its above you i would think that would be the second floor and the shop is the first floor
@fozzer1989 Жыл бұрын
In Europe we call it ground floor and 1st floor. I had this question from my American colleague only last week.

Whats the blue hose loop on the wall? Is it going into a open drain that has no trap allowing sewer gases to eek back into your enclosed space that can be toxic and flammable?
@captain_coleton Жыл бұрын
You should figure out how to make the door swing the other way.

I do not know of your location but international building code states “door cannot open to stairs door need to have landing before stairs” and doors in the fully open position shall not reduce a required dimension of the landing by more than 7 inches (178 mm).
@88KeysIdaho Жыл бұрын
I don't know about Building Codes, but also wondered why there wasn't more of a landing before going down the 2nd stair.

One of the interesting things about this... In the US the "first floor" is the first floor you walk in from the outside. Your "first floor" is actually our second floor.
