You know what that first stock was at 10:30 in game 4? When Sparg0 popped him up, Shuton pressed shield to tech on the platform, but since he didn't quite make it above the platform, he buffered an air dodge instead. Sparg0 started to charge F smash *before* the air dodge, which means not only did he know that Shuton wouldn't land on the platform, he read the error from Shuton before he made it. He calculated all that in an instant and was rewarded with a super early kill. Three steps ahead, Sparg0 is a monster.

spoiler yknow, one thing i never understood about people claiming acola beat sparg0 only because aegis beats cloud in the matchup is that sparg0 is really, REALLY dang good at the matchup. i think i can count on one hand the amount of players in the whole world who can confidently say they consistently spank shuton's aegis, arguably THE best aegis in the world, let alone in a bad matchup. ggwp, fire set

.... context kinda matters. Sparg0 lost to Cosmo's Aegis just weeks prior to losing to Acola's Aegis. Back to back. I think Sparg0 just leveled up his Cloud vs Aegis matchup after those two loses to Aegis and Shuton has been paying the price all summer and fall.

Shuton always seems like the player who could be number one if his demons weren’t the absolute best at the game. I wonder if Sparg0 could’ve lost pre-Cosmos&Acola losses. Perhaps this is the price to pay for the original sin of always 3-0ing MKLeo

@くまみこ-d2l i doubt it. Acola's Aegis took multiple stocks from Spargo doing aggressive Up Bs with coming down part of them move in the corner that were countered by Prya's up b. No one knew that would work before. Since that match up ... Sparg0 has never done an aggressive Up B down part in the corner against an Aegis. Take those countered stocks away... Sparg0 most likely wins that match vs Acola.
