Have yet to replace coil or plug on 4.6 2002 I just picked up but your video is appreciated for down the road. Have 88 Bronco but whole different animal.👍

I wish you could have shown all the footage of taking individual spark plugs out because this Ford setup so tight I hate working on it. The biggest reason i was looking at your video is to find out easiest way to get to those plugs.

Two things: NGK makes Motocraft plugs, and they work great in the Triton motors. Next, when checking plug gap, be careful not to scratch or bang the platinum coating off of the tip. I'm most cases they shouldn't need to be gapped.

@@samlind8676 they shouldn’t need to be gapped, but 80%-90% of the plugs that I check have to be adjusted at least .005

@bulldogsautomotiveadventur4387 the plug would last longer and perform better with the platinum coating left alone. In this video it moved .001-.002, not enough of a change to risk damaging the platinum. Even .005 would be questionable whether that's worth the risk to damage the platinum coating. I've seen plugs with .100+ gap with the engine running fine

@@bulldogsautomotiveadventur4387 scratch and scrape, tap and rap on a regular spark plug like we all did with our SBC's. Make those gaps perfect. The coated plugs are not to be treated the same way

Is it necessary to remove the fuel rail to get the coils/plugs out? I was informed that was the case... I'm not familiar enough with this process. I have a 2001 that I need to replace the coils on.
@bulldogsautomotiveadventur43873 ай бұрын
@@joeldb8828 no, you don’t have to do anything with the fuel rail nor do you have to pull the cab to do the rear ones like I’ve been told as well
