Then they were saying it was a power surge... It was memorable enough as it is for me... My dad was a contract cleaning manager and the stations which was hit that day was ones he looked after, his job was to make sure the stations was clean at all times, he just got home from a long night shift in london and about 10 minutes inrto his sleep, he got a phone call from his manager informing him whats happened. my dad went straight back into London to asses and to make sure his workers was safe. He has said there are things that will never be unseen. He even had press offer hiim £10,000 for a photo of the bodies and such he just looked away in horror RIP to everyone who lost their lives on this day

I live in the US (at the time, I lived about one hour north of New York City) and I was in my car when I heard about these horrific attacks on the London Underground on the radio. It sent a chill up my spine because it brought me back to September 11th. It seems to me like July 7th, 2005 was Britain's 9/11/01. This episode has me shaking. Stay safe, friends!

I was stood with many others in a carriage, near the front of a stationary train, on the eastbound track at Edgware Rd Station. Carriage doors open waiting for a green signal. We then heard, what sounded like, a cannon going off at the other end of the platform and then what I can only describe as compressed air being pumped through our train. I was very spooked when we were all asked to get off the train and leave the station out of the ‘never used’ side exit. As I got off I quickly peered down to the other end where the ‘cannon’ sound came from but I didn’t want to look too long in case I saw something I didn’t want to see. Little did I know at the time that the noise came from the westbound train that was in the station seconds ago but had just trundled out of view... but not earshot.

I remember it so well because I worked in the tower at Marble Arch at the end of Edgware Road. Every day I'd get out at Edgware Road, walk down the road, get a bite to eat and go into work. I was at my desk 10 minutes before it started. I could so easily have been involved. Nearly every day to work is forgotten but not that day.

When you don't experience something, when you don't feel personally affected by an event, your start forgetting it and doubting it. Its why people not only start disbelieving terrorist events, its why people also disbelieve things like the moon landing, or gas execution by Nazi's in WW2. Like it is such an obscure, extreme even, in some people minds it goes 'That cant have happened. So I didn't happen'. Then their moods swing in an instant, finding out their family member died in one of those events, or even themselves. Humans are stubborn, best you can do is just not forget and be respectful for those who lost their lives.

A year before 7/7 they were planning a mock exercise drill of 3 trains and 1 bus blowing up (this is exactly what happened on 7/7). This mock exercise drill was also taking place at the same 3 stations and 1 bus, same time and day on 7/7. 2. The trains the government said they caught on from luton to london was cancelled so they could not have done this at the times the bombs went off 3. Why would suicide bombers carry identification and buy a return ticket if their going to kill themselves ? 4. The cctv cameras were not working on that day and time 5. the bombs were planted underneath the carriages 6. the guy who got off before the bus exploded told the media that he saw the suicide bomber and described his clothes, but hasib hussain wasnt wearing anything that matched the description 7. tony blair immediately announced this was done by the muslims without any evidence at the time 8. israel prime minister was told to not leave his house on the morning of 7/7

My parents were on the first plane from London to the States after the bombings. They were met at the gate by a ton of press. My parents had no idea anything had happened. Meanwhile, my sister and I were frantically calling the airline to make sure they were listed on the passenger manifest.

My girlfriend was there on 7/7. Had come back from a job in Africa. It was very scary. The system broke down. People didn’t know what was going on. They had to evacuate and learn on the surface - what had happened. They had to find their own way to Heathrow. When she got back to Detroit - she learned that her then husband had passed on 7/7 in Michigan. A traumatic 24 hours in her life.

On that morning I was with my colleague, both of us working as police support officers. We are at Edgware station when we heard for assistance to help with crowd control at kings cross station. The initial message stated a fire between kings cross and Aldgate station. We got in our patrol car and made our way towards Edgware Road station, teams of officers from our unit were doing a RPI operation at Euston station when the sergeant called out the code word ‘POLSA’ which meant explosive device on the bus. We then rushed towards the scene to find chaos. We were on a road closure in front of Euston station diverting people away from the scene, allowing emergency vehicles to access the area. It was a very long 15 hours with people in panic mode, horrible news reporters trying to climb over high gates of the church which was turned into a temporary mortuary. There were people from nearby hotel and cafes who bought us drinks to keep us going. The scene was horrifying, the day had changed the entire way we behaved. We go back to our default ways and let our guards down...and it all happens again!

I was a trainee teaching assistant working in an infant school. Id just arrived home for my lunch when my twin brother came to the door and told me what happened. I watched the news in shock. After lunch i headed back to work it was so surreal seeing buses going past and I thought of all the people on the trains and buses whom we injured or killed just going to work or going about thier day. When i got back to work we were all told not to tell the children so as to keep them calm and leave it up to parents as they would be too young to understand anyways. I'll never forget that day

Jesus, it took forty minutes to get help down there and that poor bloke was in a scene of devastation on his own. How many lives would have been lost needlessly because of that sort of delay. This is why it is so important to learn first aid. If you are an employer, please give serious consideration to sending ALL of your staff on a thorough first aid course and claiming it back as a training expense. No one knows when they might see a very serious event with injuries needing immediate attention to save life.

I remember this day very well. I was getting ready for work when I got a text message from my (now ex) girlfriend asking me if I was ok. Surprised by her text I said "yes of course I am. Why?" And then she said that there was a problem on the underground. I was living in a pub between Aldgate and Liverpool street station. Eventually the City of London Police came in telling us to get our stuff ready in case we had to be evacuated. But the one thing that will stick to my mind is that on this day there was the G8 in Gleneagle, Scotland. W Bush with Tony Liar were seeking public support for the war in Irak. What a strange coincidence if you ask me.

When you hear the government and the top of TFL talking about job cuts and reduction of staff numbers ask them to come back here, watch this video and listen to the woman saying how reassuring was the sight of London Underground staff and how professional they were. That’s what people sometimes don’t get, the staff can seem relaxed most of the time, but when the shit hits the fan, their level of professionalism and their knowledge is incredible.

I was 10 when this happened and was at school in Camden, when a girl there was running around saying there had been a bomb on London Bridge (obvs too young to understand what had really happened!). The teachers tried to keep it down all day when eventually they decided to evacuate us as we weren't far from one of the bus bombings. I remember my friends mum picking my sister, me and my friend up and driving us home and then my mum just running out of work to hug us crying. We spent the whole day watching what was happening on the news and as a 10 year old it was absolutely terrifying, confusing and heartbreaking. My condolences go out to all those affected that day, London really did come to a stand still

A fictional “scenario” of multiple bomb attacks on London’s underground took place at exactly the same time as the bomb attack on July 7, 2005. Peter Power, Managing Director of Visor Consultants, a private firm on contract to the London Metropolitan Police, described in a BBC interview how he had organized and conducted the anti-terror drill, on behalf of an unnamed business client. The fictional scenario was based on simultaneous bombs going off at exactly the same time at the underground stations where the real attacks were occurring POWER: At half past nine this morning we were actually running an exercise for a company of over a thousand people in London based on simultaneous bombs going off precisely at the railway stations where it happened this morning, so I still have the hairs on the back of my neck standing up right now. HOST: To get this quite straight, you were running an exercise to see how you would cope with this and it happened while you were running the exercise? POWER: Precisely, and it was about half past nine this morning, we planned this for a company and for obvious reasons I don’t want to reveal their name but they’re listening and they’ll know it. And we had a room full of crisis managers for the first time they’d met and so within five minutes we made a pretty rapid decision that this is the real one and so we went through the correct drills of activating crisis management procedures to jump from slow time to quick time thinking and so on. .. and Peter Power also appeared in the BBC Panorama programme that was aired in May 2004, where a panel of experts were discussing how London would respond to terrorist attacks on the tube network. The scenario was very similar.

This is the year when a Young Olympian becomes a wheelchair volleyball Paralympian lost her legs during the event. I can only think those who might not have liked Uk to hold the games like they did could have done it as a pay back like what the Germans did back in the blitz or was it due to another reason I don’t know it’s too complex to tell.
