Outstanding. These acts of bravery should be taught in schools.

It’s a shame this video doesn’t get as many likes as it deserves.

That’s the stuff heroes are made of. Jack said it would have taken more guts not to go. They’re were brothers to save, and they did 🇺🇸🇺🇸

I had none until my 250th hour and 22 Hot LZs. And that was in less than 2 months. I almost washed out of flight school 6 times. Angels road with me.

My father was a CW3 in Siagon. Shot down 3 times and recovered. 😢❤ He later died flying corporate. The bolt came out of the rotor blades n cut the helicopter up in Bucks County, PA. I was only 8. 😢❤❤❤❤ I was in 3rd grade when he died n we went to court when I was in 7th grade… rehashing it all over again…

If a movie were made based of these stories, reviewers would slam it for being unbelievable; a fantasy of some drugged out Vietnam vet.

Agree. Not many people would have done this mission, not even Maverick.

As outstanding as these gentlemn were here, and I salute them all, this does not even come close to what we "search and destroy" crews of the typical "pink teams" of all the various calvary units experienced on a day to day, week to week and month to month daily routine as the "quick reaction forces" designed to support that "grunt" on the ground. Their support was our only reason for existing. We always went when called. No matter the weather conditions, day or night, red X aircraft or not. Our flight school motto was, "Above the Best"! "We can, we will!" and, by God, we did! NO MATTER WHAT!

Curious as to why tac air wasn't used to help the situation?

Too far away. Junction City was in the last day of the battle that commenced in early February 1967 and ended on May 14th 1967/the same day as Cau Song Be. There was zero help after call after call. In and out 6 times. No guns. No personal armor.
