When it came to the Black and ToP arcs, I kinda just let it come down to the fact that the stories are mostly just merged and you have multiple options to switch to Vegeta. His dialogue and cutscenes still intersect with other stories, along with you still being able to switch to him. My only gripe was that they cut out the Universe 6 Tournament for EVERY character. That was an actual bummer.

What I played from the story mode, It feels really rushed. We are glancing over important fights at a neck break speed. Taking the story mode into character story's just felt like they wanted to make the game longer. In the alternative stories, the game is great. It gives you a good what if and it's paced out well enough. But the regular story mode, feels really rushed.

I can’t help but agree I found it to be downright criminal that Vegeta has no episodes for Dragonball Super in Sparking Zero but Frieza, Piccolo, Trunks and Gohan get ENTIRE what if arcs. The fights with Jiren and Toppo alone were extremely important moments for his story. The lack of GT missions is crazy too. I also found it a little lazy that we completely skip the Tournament of Destroyers since it gives us context on Universe 6. It feels weird that Trunks somehow got more priority since he meets Cabba. They also skipped over Vegeta’s speech to Black. Damn near everything important that Vegeta did after Buu got ignored.

You all need to relax with calling the devs of this game lazy. I'm willing to bet they worked harder on this than most of us will ever work on anything. Your expectations are completely ridiculous. "Why didn't they do this exact what if I wanted?" Get over it. There are so many interesting what ifs thay are fleshed out very nicely. You not getting 1 is not an indication of laziness by the devs. "Why no GT?" Because they only have Omega Shenron as a villain. This game is clearly more interested in highlighting the more current material than some unsuccessful, non-canon spin off. This was obvious from the initial trailers. Grow up. Tournament of Destroyers got skipped because most of the Universe 6 characters involved are not important, not interesting, and not worth using up time that could be better spent elsewhere. Its literally the most mid arc of Super. How could anyone in their right mind be mad its not included? Also, Super doesn't have important moments for Vegeta. Its all a re-tread of his arc from end of Z. Thats probably why they ended his story there. Maybe think for half a second on WHY things are how they are instead of claiming people are lazy? Though if you truly are so far above us all, I'd love to see what a game you make looks like, considering you must have the work ethic of perpetual motion machine, talking shit like you are.

This is why I say What-if’s being a separate mode would benefit story mode way more. Without what-if battles all across the different story modes you have all the more reason to fill in canon in story fights that weren’t in the game (playing as vegeta against goku, or trunks vs cell) .

Sparking Zero is sad. It could've been the best Dragon ball game ever. It has great graphics, and the core fighting is great. But the lack of content holds it back. Episode battles are really lazy. You have amazing characters models, yet we have a slideshow presentation of the story. Or lack thereof. With stuff like Gohan starting from cell and vegeta not having any Super at all, etc. And the slideshow presentation would've been ok. If at least the cutscenes were narrated. Customizations were advertised like a big part of the game. Yet they are locked through Dragon Ball eras. Like, I seriously can't use Super saiyan Blue Goku with a yardrat outfit?? No Badman outfit for Vegeta? People clowned on Ign for giving it a 7. But it really is a 7 out of 10 experience.

Honestly yeah, I was downright shocked by how short Vegeta's story mode is, I thought I missed something or did something wrong at first when it just ended at the kid buu fight... like wow that's cheeks. Not only that, but he gets like, 2 what ifs? Even Piccolo was done better, and he didn't get any super content either. Honestly, it is very clear that this game was rushed out to meet with the release of Daima, it needed a few more months in the oven, so many parts of this game are clearly *almost* there but they just rushed it and we end up with a flawed gem. I hope they fix some of the issues over time, but I have my doubts that we will ever see major story changes or significant changes to core mechanics, but one can hope.

I have to agree, when i finished the Kid Buu fight in Vegeta's story, i didn't get anymore fights afterwards, it was so bad that at first i thought i unlocked some what if i didn't know about, so i replayed it again and guess what? it didn't appear either, and then i went ahead and realized that that's where Vegeta's story ends, it's bullshit considering that Vegeta has many fights in Super, and on a side note i wished they made story modes for the Z Movies and GT, just for the sake of it

I loved all of Vegeta's What If stories, honestly I found a lot of the story missions boring (it's probably the weakest part of the game) but I had a big nerdy grin on my face for like 80% of Vegeta's story missions. I completely agree that we should have had more. If Goku had 55 missions, Vegeta needed at least 40 or so. But what we got was good, and as you mentioned the Cell saga was excellent.

I get we've seen the story a thousand times and kakarot has been its "best" telling yet but Bandai definitely fumbled. They have the previous games right there as reference, so building it from the ground up isn't an excuse. We're missing core mechanics, promised customization features and tons of other stuff, they didn't even feel the need to give us a narrator throughout the horrible still cuts. The fact they have to have a survey for peoples feedback is ridiculous. 17 years of everyone wanting BT4 should have been BT3 mechanics rebuilt with everything they new they did for SZ. Yeah I really felt this.. Especially cuz, being newer to fighting games, I lost to Vegeta and it even gives a whole special cutscene when you lose to him as a Goku saying that the entire world is run by Vegeta now. I was hoping to play through that future as a what if in Vegeta's but of course, seems that was just a pipe dream. There was a lot of potential squandered here regardless. What if Vegeta never went to earth? What if Vegeta won as Majin Vegeta? What if Vegeta beat Freeza? What if Vegeta went back into space instead of staying with bulma? What if Vegeta killed Yajirobe as Ozaru?

They really should do Story/What-if DLC like they've been doing with Kakarot and Xenoverse 2. So many possibilities. Imagine how hard a Vegeta Black arc would go. Upon learning Zamasu took his body and killed Bulma, Trunks and I think also Bulla, that would probably cause him to turn SSBE early. The Gohan Black arc was great, but it was such a missed opportunity that learning of his wife and daughter's deaths at Zamasu's hands didn't trigger him to turn Beast form - *THAT* would've been *THE* perfect moment for him to gain that form, not seeing Piccolo being beaten to near death. It could've happened, had Beast Gohan been on the roster at launch.

We've seen the same story be retold so many times, dunno why they couldn't have given more what ifs and more attention to Super, like you added a lot of characters from the TOP so you might as well include more stories around it.

Before watching this video, one thing that I can say is the one way that I think they failed. Vegeta is by giving his super Saiyan blue the ultimate of exploding himself and taking damage I think it would’ve been better if it was a final flash or literally any other attack and I feel like it should’ve switched into the ultimate when you went into the super Saiyan blue evolution state then you would’ve been able to use that ultimate there was a lot of things that just weren’t as good and even then, his base form when you use his final flash ultimate attack it has no cut scenes of it

This is the best dragon ball z game hands down. We just need more maps. There was this one map with a red truck that i really liked and kami's lookout. Just give me maps and ill be happy

Definitely not the best. Although it does it have the best potential to be. They just need to fix a lot of issues in the game. But right now, games like Kakorot, Xenoverse 2, Bt3 are better ngl
