Yeah Each total health pool is weighted equally, but each hit draws from their percentage, which factors into the overall pool. Half a bar from a character from one total bar means they're calculated as a 50%, half a bar from a character with two means they're a 75%, and so on This is why things like a Hercule anchor, which the last guy almost assuredly had, are nice. His job is just to sit there, chipping a 100% into the time out calculations at all times. More characters is generally better, to mitigate the overall % each hit you do take on the characters you actually use matters, and taking hits on characters with more health is better, or characters with ways to get hp back. If you have a choice of one character with six bars, or one with 5 and one with 1, then time runs out after taking one bar of damage on the fatter character, the 6 bar player has 83% left on average, while the other has 80% + 100%/2 = 90%. Obviously health bars aren't all you're paying for, but if you're playing for stall, you absolutely want as many characters as possible behind the ones you actually use, that ideally either never see combat at all, or else have extremely niche use cases/are used for fun and variety as match pace allows. Note how for the last one, we never saw the (likely) Hercule, and only saw Roshi the once, most likely for variety. Most of the damage was being taken by Yajirobe, who can heal and otherwise mitigate damage and draw out the match, and then Vegeta and Goku, who are tankier than the anchors, and have a way to recoup lost hp via fusion if they're getting too beaten up while maintaining those 100s in the back, and ALSO condensing their % into one value, that gives more weight to the 100s on the anchors. You don't want to lead with your anchors, since they're going to bring the calculations down super hard, since such low point characters lose % total hp so rapidly, and the game likes 0 50 50 100 100 a lot more than 0 0 0 75 100 100. It's a bit of a dubious design choice, considering how easy it is to play for stall and have characters that never actually see combat, meaning the theoretical downside of Hercule's 100% becoming a 0% in about five seconds never comes up, but, them's the breaks, and the theoretical world where it's about total HP between characters on the team mostly just means any character with fewer bars than cost is unviable, and victory by just rapid fire transforming without ever really fighting... then probably still doing Yajirobe stall takes over. Only real solution is to just disable the timer entirely, which likely has some technical reasons at least for online play. Yajirobe isn't really a problem here, he's just the current best fit for the role. If he gets nerfed, the strategy just replaces him with the next best staller, and maybe shuffles some of the other parts to deal with pricing

Tip: In Team or DP Battles, if the time reaches 0, the player who wins is the one who eliminated more characters from the enemy team. It is not based on how many characters are left at the end. Now, if each player has lost the same amount of characters, then the player with more health wins (not sure about the health thing tho). This is why it's risky to have more characters, since you could lose more than the enemy and lose by timeout.

I think Recoome actually has 4.5 health bars at the start. His actual health meter isn't filled when he comes in, and the ticks to the right of the health meter you need to count them +1 because there is always a final health meter you need to burn through even after the ticks have gone away. So Gogeta has 5 health bars total, for example, 4 ticks + a final health meter once the ticks are gone

My man really got Guldo in a Sparking combo and thought maybe a quarter of his final health bar was worth using one of the strongest ultimate attacks in the game on. And yeah according to the stats while his regular attack damage sucks balls, Recoome is one of the best non-giant tanks in the game, his defence stat and health are second to none and he additionally gets False Courage. Guy is very lore accurate, as for his gimmick, it was less him being strong and more he was very passionate about performing ballet.

Fusion does not give you more HP. Its just both characters current HP combined with a cap. EX: Goten and Trunks each have 2.5 bars of hp but Gotanks HP cap is 4.5 instead of 5.

When Gogeta's run away from the rematch after losing to SS1 Goku and then get matched with me 30 seconds later.. I love it. They play the OP characters, abuse the cheese and then when you beat them they literally run away. Love how you are pwning people without even thinking about spamming cheese or abusing any mechanics. There's an alternate story where the Ginyu force comes to Earth, and I've had more trouble beating the 5 in a row with 1 character than I have had anywhere else in the game, great ape Vegeta, Goku Black, all done in 1-3 tries, Ginyu force in this? Once it his Jeice things go so far south.
