It's a reference to the kitsune (a Japanese fox spirit that steals the looks of others). The bit about the mask is that her face is not hers and therefore her emotions are wholly disconnected from her physicality. It's causing some kind of weird ego death and making her...unhinged.

Her character story details ingame say that the mask is that of a puppeteer and the longer the mask is worn the more sentience the mask gains, until it gains enough sentience to become human. However its also stated that sparkle does not wish to become human, but then again her word can really be trusted since she states “what better stage is there than the stage of your own life?”, so its hard to tell if what she says is truth or not and how much of that is actually true.

Bro the element for her fits her so well. I might be miss remembering, but I do remember people who use quantum basically can change reality. I remember seeing it in the silver wolf story ( when she was trying to hack the space station ) and her home planet have people like treating life like some kind of equation to solve, like a big game that they can play, by using quantum.
