@@lamp6909 well they might have explained it a bit when reading between the lines. In the movie Mitsuha's grandma explains that the name of the god of their shrine is Musubi. And that in ancient Japanese "Musbubi" is a force of connection. That the force of Musubi and the power of this god binds everything to everything. That this force of connection binds individuals and beings to the earth, to eachother and that this force is time itself. So the god of Miyamizu shrine is a god of connection. It was also later revealed that all female members of the Miyamizu family (which has been in posession of the shrine) have had bodyswapping experiences for at least a thousand years, including Mitsuha's mother and grandma and of course, Mitsuha herself. We also know that it is connected to the arrival of this comet which also passed earth 1200 years ago and that Itomori lake around which the town is located, was created by a meteor strike. Supposedly a meteor from the same comet that has now returned. So tying all this together, the most likely explanation is that the god of Miyamizu shrine, which is a god of connection, is tied to the Miyamizu family because of their service at the shrine and this god uses its power to bind the female members of the Miyamizu family to other people. This causes them to experience body swapping. Because the people that are affected by this god their minds and souls are now bound. This probably started after the first arrival of the comet and the god has been doing this ever since to save the town from destruction when the comet would come back in 2013

I love how on the movie you see the comet falling at the end of the song. And when the singing stops, we are left with this soft piano guidibg us slowly and calmly to the end of the song while giving us one last view of Itomori. Only for the Peace to be ended when the music stops on a final note, and we see the comet strike causing all kinds of explosions and destruction. The contrast of this calm and gentle piano music with this giant force of nature destroying an entire town is impressive to me

watching "Kiminawa" was one of the best experience I have on Movie theatre... The graphic was pleasing to the eyes, the music was pleasing to the ear, the character was pleasing to the heart, and the story was pleasing to the emotion... I love Makoto Shinkai's work, all of his work was wonderful, and even I was doubtful he'll make something as good as this in the future... I was reallly pissed that this masterpiece didn't get Oscar at that year....

And I thought Spirited Away was good. I have been getting into anime recently on advise from my friends who watch anime. And the first movie I watched was Spirited Away, and I liked it. And afterwards I watched some other movies that I thought were decent but I had this one still on my list. And boy did I love this movie. Everything about it is just great. The animation style, the characters the music, the story. I also love it how Shinkai has created an innovative and refreshing take on a pretty cliche genre which has been done to death by Hollywood. Because there have been many bodyswap comedies in the past and they all are pretty much the same. Two people who don't like each other, or who wish they had each other's life because "they have it better" swap bodies and this leads to all kinds of awkward and inconvenient situations and at the end of the movie they swap back and they respect eachother more and are more content with their own lifes. And Kimi No Na Wa starts like this. It starts like a generic body swap comedy. With even some of the cliches like Mitsuha yelling that she hates her current life and all kinds of inconveniences and awkward moments that body swapping causes for both characters. But the movie flips that idea with a huge twist in the middle of the film which turns it more into a thriller than a comedy movie. And also the idea of them swapping back and forth and only remembering a little bit, before forgetting each other entirely and needing to find eachother back is something that we have never seen before in a bodyswap comedy

13 march - A year ago when I visited this amv for the first time I had no idea for whose absence I'm mourning this beautifully. 3 months ago I met a boy in a really strange way as if everything was planned. He lives so far away that I've never even visited that place, we don't even speak each other's mother tongue but yet it feels so utterly 'meant to be' thing that we got to meet. I think this might be what love is... But I'm struggling to love. He loves me so effortlessly but I don't know what love is or how to do it, but only for this person I'm willing to risk it all, I'm learning day by day how to accept myself, accept him and love, just in hope that I'll be able to love him more than he does. 26 March- about 2 weeks ago I found the words of Ram Dass 'sit around the fire' and that changed everything for me "you start to love what u can love" of course believing that I can love was a really difficult process for me but I wanted to... And then I decided to let go of all my fears and just provide him with love even if it's not enough, what will happen? He'll live me right? But at least I'll be able to let him know that he's loved! 13 april- finally someone reminded me to update and I'm thankful because I'm happy, "love is not difficult... Fear is" I realised this in the process of loving him. Before I decided to love, everything was just so difficult and confusing but then I felt so stupid when I understood how peaceful love is! Idk what will happen in future but love is never a waste, fear is.
