2:26 in Europe we use ml wich means mililiters but we can say ML, it’s easier and everyone understands perfectly. I prefer ml cause it’s the universal measure of liquids. As grams is universal measure for weight. When i have a recipe in ounces; inches; pounds; that is confusing. But saying ML is trully correct cause it’s exacly what it says on the jug.

Thank you! I find that not only was the expense an issue, but I almost always lost money on International orders. That is why I had to discontinue them. I have been scammed, I've had customers claim they didn't like the scents after they had been boxed up together for 8 weeks, I've had customers not want to pay customs, I've had damaged packages that the USPS wouldn't cover because it had been sitting in another country for so long, etc.. I used to ship International a lot but so many things happened that I could have just tossed the order in the trash myself and made more money. LOL

I find myself going to be well past midnight on work nights but you are so creative. One thing I would love to share with you. We live in a world that will always have nasty people who have nothing better to do than criticize. I hope you take it with a grain of salt, or simply ignore it. That is one thing that can bring a person's spirit down and it's just not worth an ounce of your energy. Keep going what you are doing, keep being successful and keep being real. We love you. Cathi

I'd love to smell that scent, I have to say that lilac isn't a popular scent here in the UK, but maybe I'll change that! haha I'm sad for your daffodils, I live in North Wales and for pretty much the whole of March, there are daffodils everywhere you look-it's the national flower of Wales. The breeze smells amazing :) Once I get my recipe sorted, I'm going to make daffodil scented soap! I'll see if I can find a lilac fragrance oil and try that too. Thanks for your videos, you've no idea how excited I am each time I see a new video up. I'm pleased you are having fun again xx

Hi Holly! Lilac soap is one of my favorites and I love the smell of lilacs in the garden. Our big lilac got struck last fall by lightning, so we'll need to replace it. I'm in the process of making a little herb garden in our side yard. We use a lot of basil. oregano, chives and such. I'm also looking to put 3 tomatoe plants with the herbs. My Schriener's Iris catalog came Monday and I'm already picking and choosing. Although they can't be planted till fall. We have about 16 different colors now, but I've beenadicted for years, so, I order new stock every other year. I need some more Lilly bulbs, but if I don't get it done this week it'll be to late! So, those are the garden plans. Glad to see your enjoying the process while making soap. I love to watch the pouring of soap myself! Have a wonderful weekend! Jill Gross
@moriversoap2 жыл бұрын
Hi Jill! How sad that your lilac got struck by lightning! GEEZ! I didn't know I liked basil until recently so I think I will try to plant some as well. I have a chive plant that always comes back and does well year after year. Cilantro is my fave garden herb! I started following Schriener's last fall and wow, they have amazing iris colors! I was just telling my husband that I want to plant an iris garden this fall. That is another flower that we had at our house in MT. I can completely transport back to being a kid and just the sight and smell and just general atmosphere of them there. I remember that they smelled a bit like vanilla. Does that sound right? We have purple ones here but they don't really smell like much of anything.
@Tribulation_Harvest2 жыл бұрын
Lilac is my favorite flower scent as well, with Lilly of the Valley coming in a close second. You mentioned the designs for the tops of your soaps, and I must say that I prefer a soap with a more minimalistic design on the top. I see some soap makers put a lot of effort in building up the tops of their soaps with piping bags and protruding embeds (and sometimes with non-soap items like paper straws and such), and although they may have an initial visual appeal, it seems to me that they would be a little awkward to handle. I like your wavy top designs and low profile embed designs because it keeps the bar rectangular and easier to use. Maybe it's because I'm a guy, but I don't need that tower of soap and embeds piled up on the top. I see your designs as being more practical and more user friendly. You're a talented soap maker and you do a lot with color and low profile embeds, like holly leaves, stars, soap balls & cubes, pumpkins, leaves, shreds, glitter, etc... Sometimes I watch other soap makers piling things on the tops of their soaps and I say, "Why? Why are you doing that? You don't need all that. Stop! Wait, you're piping another layer?" 😂 I admit that some of them look quite nice, and if I was buying those soaps strictly based on eye appeal, that would be fine, but I prefer to purchase and use a bar that fits in my hand nicely. I guess that's the long winded way of saying that I like your soap designs, where the eye appeal is inside the soap (colors, designs, and embeds) and in the swirls and low profile embeds you place on top. 🙂
@moriversoap2 жыл бұрын
Thank you Ken! I would say that Lily of the Valley is my second favorite too. I am not sure I've ever smelled them for reals but I know the fragrance oil is one of my favorites. Yes, I see some of those high top soaps and think they are certainly beautiful and fun but they are not something I would choose myself. I like a rectangular or square bar and also one that doesn't have to be shrink wrapped.

I recently made a purple soap...only one of the 3 purples I used stayed purple. I thought I had added more than enough to keep the darker colors true to the idea I had in mind, but the slight discoloration from my FO and the general fickle nature of purples got the best of me. 😅 They turned into two different shades of ugly grey, so instead of trying to rebatch it, I just made it into laundry soap.
@moriversoap2 жыл бұрын
Oh yes, purples can definitely be fickle especially with a yellow fragrance oil. Phooey!
@HollyT952 жыл бұрын
I've had that issue with some purples too, and interestingly enough I've found that the ones that go grey will actually turn purple again if I gel the soaps, or if I use them in hot process. So maybe something to consider testing out if you really want to use those colours 😊

Thank you for such a lovely soap, now I have to get some of that scent lol, but the bad part is the bees like it too lol, they think I'm a Lilac flower and I don't like being chased by bees, so I'll save it for winter. BTW, how do you get your soaps so smooth and silky feeling? I use a planer on mine too, but they don't come out as nice as yours, do you use a steamer?
@moriversoap2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Oh no about the bees...I know what you mean though. Haha!
@moriversoap2 жыл бұрын
I don't use a steamer. I am not using a planer with the new rainbow soaps this time because I just can't get it all done. They are a little bit more textured but that will smooth out with the first wash anyway.

Do you mind if I ask, what ratio you use to make your TD and how much you use per pound of soap, I can’t seem to get my soap to get whit even though I use 1 to 2 ratio, can never get a good white soap even with non discoloring fragrance. Thank you ❤
@moriversoap Жыл бұрын
Titanium dioxide is hard. I have the best luck using water soluble. I tend to mix up enough for several batches at one time. I usually do 6 tsp TD to 4-5 TBSP of water. I usually find that it's when the TD isn't blended well is when it doesn't pack a punch. I will usually heat up the TD/water mixture in the microwave for about 20 seconds and then blend it up again. Typically, they say 1 tsp ppo but I never have needed to use that much to get a nice white. That would be too much for me. What color is your unscented soap without color or fragrance? Sometimes greenish olive oils can cause your TD to be a bit lacking.

You're reading my mind for a floral soap!!! I'm making a hyacinth soap today. Inspired by the second season of Bridgerton!! My fragrance oil is Wild Hyacinth by Mad Oils 😏 I'm also in Arizona and I'm gardening for the first time this year. I have some tomato plants, zucchini, yellow squash, eggplant, corn, okra, beets, radish, honeydew, watermelon, cantaloupe, and cucumbers! I'm also trying to grow the roselle hibiscus so I can harvest it for teas.

Oh fun! You have planted a lot of great things! I planted some tomatoes and jalapenos in the garden today. I'll do more next weekend. I'm running out of steam to plant seeds today.

I have such bad luck with florals in general but I’ve always had bad luck with lilac which makes me very sad, where is this lilac from and would you recommend it? The scent doesn’t morph?

The scent is fantastic! I have a bar sitting here in front of me and I keep thinking the window is open and the scent is wafting in. So good! I thought I mentioned it in the video but turns out I had not. Haha! I put it in the description. It is from Bramble Berry.

What’s the most milk you can put in soaps?😊
@moriversoap Жыл бұрын
You can use 100% milk but it has to be made as the lye solution.

@@irma1313mimi It really depends on the recipe and your preference. I personally don't care for full milk soaps - the making or the using - but many do and that's amazing too.

I love lilacs. Not a fan of lavender. It chokes me up. One of my favorite candles was a lilac scent from one of the home decor party companies… can’t remember which one but they’re no longer in business 😞

Lilac is one of my most favorite. Unfortunately the real flower is one of the few I’m allergic to. I refuse to cut down the bush by my bedroom window.

Dear Cheryl, she's selling! I don't think it's appropriate to ask for someone's recipe if they formulated the recipe their selves. Please keep that in mind. Besides it's not very difficult to formulate yourself, I would highly encourage you to do so, it's a lot of fun! Thank you, a nót selling soapmaker from the Netherlands

When i asked for this information, I was under the assumption these were educational videos and I was missing the recipe. As an attorney, I completely understand and respect the proprietary nature of these recipes. I enjoy watching her videos and will continue to do so. Not quite sure I understand the need to make snarky comments without knowing understanding my request. Thank u to this soap channel for ur professional response!
