I got scammed some 6 years ago for a Karambit Marble Fade Fire and Ice. It was the first knife I had ever unboxed and it was just around Christmas time as it is now. I attempted to sell it to whom I thought was a reputable trader, in hopes of being able to use the money to buy my family some nice gifts. Unfortunately, due to my lack of knowledge back then, I thought I had recieved a PayPal payment, but was sorely mistaken. Glad you are bringing some awareness of these things to the community, because I would not wish my experience on anyone else. Keep up the great content!

I got scammed before too. I was back playing CS after a long time and I started using a gambling website that I used years before. I used that website for the daily rewards and to gamble the skins I already had (I am not an usual gambler and the skins were not expensive and I was ok to know I could lose them), one day in that website I won a jackpot so I withdrawal a skin. After that my Steam kept changing the language to Chinese, I was not sure what was happening. A week or so later all my items were sold on Steam market for 0,03€ to the same account since it wouldn't need my Steam Guard approve it. Only on that moment I realised someone had access to my Steam and I lost all my skins. Neither to say that gambling website doesn't exist anymore...

I have to say CSGO scamers are the worst of the worst like no conscious or anything this is why i use steam family view feature they can't do anything without your family view password.

Coming from a place similar to his, where I got scammed and lost a very preciuos item to me, a skin I got for my birthday from my best friend just a few months after he passed from Leukemia, I really felt this guy's pain. I'm glad things turned out the way it did for him, it really seems like he deserves it. But I'm most happy there are people like you out there in the world, not only scammers. This happened to me. I tried to trade in my Medusa and Icarus fell into skin clubs using the buy skins. Unfortunately a scammer canceled my trade and immediately created another trade to their inventory and I was new to the whole skins trading and selling and didnt realize the name wasnt the same on the trade and BOOM thousands of dollars gone. It sucks but it definitely was a lesson into double checking your trade names. Love the video sparkles and it was amazing to see someone getting scammed a redemption!

One of my close friends lost his entire collection to a scammer two months after starting cs, it was around 1k$ he had saved over his time spent playing and it hurt him badly, he’s still playing and has slowly been building his collection again but that really hurt his enjoyment of the game. This was only 4 months ago. He experienced the same scam that chief kinzo was scammed by and now does not play FACEIT. I hope this video helps spread awareness about this scam!

I've been scammed so many times that I've lost count. Just when I thought I'd learned my lesson, I managed to go three whole years without any incidents-until the day I unboxed a Butterfly Knife Marble Fade. I still have the video from that moment: me screaming to my family, "MOM, BRING MY BOXES, WE'RE GOING ON VACATION!" The excitement was unreal. As soon as the knife became tradeable, I rushed to a website to sell it. That’s when the nightmare began. My prized knife was sold for just $0.02, and worse, every skin I had in my account was wiped out. I still have all the pictures and videos from that time, a painful reminder of what happened. This all took place about six years ago. Since then, I’ve continued to play CS:GO, but now I’m extremely cautious. Just like the rest of us, I too have been scammed. I was naive and young. But I've learnt my lesson since then. My biggest advice to anyone reading this, worried they might be - don't ever log into ANYTHING with your steam account. Don't trust anyone who's sending you links that make you do this. Close the tab and walk away. It'll save you your skins and your account. It's always too good to be true! :) Merry Christmas everyone.

When he told me that story I actually didn’t know how to even respond. Be careful out there guys being scammed out of your fav skins is never fun and I don’t wish it on anyone.

So great initiative. Well done Sparkles. I was also sniped about 3 years ago. All happend during night when I sleep. Someone log in to my acc, sell all items on minimal price and for cash from sell that scamer bought some shit item from dota for all cash.. I have steamguard but I didn't get any info on mobile, but then when I check me email it was lots of steam transaction. I try to talk with support but in short way they show me middle finger and advice to use steamguard.. but that guard didnt help me in this situation ... I lost in that time about 160-170 usd in csgo skins which I collected past 2 years. One week later I won my first skin from some yt creator It was m4a1s PlayerTwo worth about 35 usd. I exchange it for some other skins to rebuild my eq. Thats my story with small happy ending 😊

PS: two years ago they also stole my inventory, there wasn't much, about 700 Euros... VALVE had to do something and take measures in some way so that what they're stealing from you can be recovered... it's unfair to spend time and money on this company and they don't give a shit if they steal from you or not...

Yep. I got scammed recently for my knife and glove (worth approximately 600USD), from a scammer pretending to be a dmarket bot. It was a stupid trade and now in retrospect it felt so obvious that he was scamming, but he caught me on a bad day and it was a late night, so I got tricked. I feel my own story a lot in this video as well.

I got scammed the exact same way as Chiefkinzo. I had just bought my first glove knife combo with my allowance, that I had saved up for almost a year. Nothing too nice, but a beautiful combo for a starter, rust coat stiletto and hand wraps duct tape. After getting scammed, I haven't had the courage to buy any skins or open any cases in fear of losing it all again.

I was so disappointed and wanted to stop playing cs. After 2 years I started playing again and got scammed again from a skin change website for about 120$. I got scammed similarly I lost my first knife it was a survival blue steel someone posing as a valve employe told me I need to do something I was worried that it was a hacker so I did the same thing sent a small skin it went through proceded to send whole inventory and my friend never got anything. I got invited like this once. When they said to verify the thing and i saw a shady link i just backed out and blocked them. All the alarms where ringing eventhough i had the excact same chain of thoughts "Im still in faceit so it should be safe" but decided against it. Im glad, i work almost minimum wage and cs is my hobby and a lot of my money i have laying around are in skins in my inventory. Rule of thumb, never click a link from a random or even a friend and never input your steam verifications where you are not 100% certain its safe.

My story starts in 2017 as far as I know. I won a competition with a streamer that I still watch today. It was my first skin and my first knife was a Falcion vanilla. I wanted to get something new and wanted to sell my knife to get it, so someone spontaneously asked me if they could buy it and I thought it was really cool because I didn't know the cash out sites, then we made the trade and He didn't give me the money and then I wrote to Steam support and they couldn't help me :( I will nerver forget the pain in my heard

i've got scammed the same way. lost 550 dollars worth of skins :/ basically played casual and a dude approached me with some extra friendly vibes, played some wingmans and comps together then he asked me if i play face it, i said a little, then he said we can play in some league, which needs a trade verification some sort of, so i did the same as this guy, traded em to my best friend, first one declined, second time went through, and after that i was instantly blocked and so on. sucks balls. I know how you feel bro. Advice: Delete new friend requests, play with your friends.

yup had a case and key gifted to me for my birthday from a friend opened the case and pulled a karambit crimson web so build a nice little inventory around the knife. played with some Russian add as a friend wanted to give me a skin for ,y collection and when i accepted the trade link it had and .exe folder attached next game we played half way through he started lol as my inventory was getting sold from under my nose!!!! Grrrrrrr was fuming!! but silly me for clicking on a fake trade

Pfft, been a long time since i was last scammed, but it had happened. I got scammed for my both 2 knifes, 1st knife was a survival knife stained mw, about 130$, my first knife ever, got scammed by an api scam... 2nd knife was a bayonet freehand with a little man laughing at you all the time when just holding the knife, it was field teated or minimal wear, i got scammed by a guy who owned a server with 15,000 people in it... and some pretty big guys were there too, with inventory values of 100k+, yet when he was middle manning a 400$ tarde at that time, he and his friend exit scammed... and thats how i lost my 2nd knife. Didnt bother to get another one since than... bad memories

This almost got me. Very happy I didn't click verify. For me, it was just someone in a DM saying my name, which prompted me to reply. They asked me to play some faceit. They invite you to this staged and empty discord server just to show you how to 'verify'. If you click drag the button, it directs you to some sketchy place. Scary stuff
