Hey Mao! Another great tutorial but I have one question. What do you do if there is too much excess fabric on the cup to hide with one dart? I’m trying but it’s not working.

Thanks for the video it's very helpful! Do you need to cover the inner part with extra fabrics to separate the layering material and to cover the stitching?
@sparklybelly10 жыл бұрын
Thank you, Anya :) I'm often too excited to start wearing my costume and don't get around to do the lining, but you can attach lining inside the bra cups and all straps if you like, and it will make your finished costume more professional :)

Do you still make videos of you making Belly dance bras? And are you able to make any kind of Belly dance bra you want? Like for example you see a Belly dance bra on Television and you're able to make that exact same Belly Dance Bra no matter what's on the Belly dance bra and no matter what color the Belly dance bra is?

Leonel Salazar Thanks for your comment. I do still make tutorials on making belly dance costumes, and I'll be offering a workshop over on my blog this fall as well :) I can't say I can recreate exact same belly dance bras as ones that I see, especially because many quality costume bras are hand-made and the craftsmanship is very hard to copy. Having said, I do enjoy examining the design and techniques that went into creating costume bras. Nowadays you can find similar materials online as well. If you are looking to create a specific type of costume bra, you can email me photos of it at mao@sparklybelly.com and I can try to help you recreate it. And I also enjoy sharing what I learn. :)

how cut measure aline skirt

Did you put interfacing on the side straps? If so, did you lengthen the straps so that it could still be the preferred length for fitting? Also is there a way to line the inside of the bra once you tuck the fabric under? I ask because I am doing a custom made project for someone.
@sparklybelly8 жыл бұрын
Yes :) I usually cut the side straps off the base bra, and make side straps to match the preferred length with layers of interfacing and felt. And yes, you can line inside the bra cups and straps with lightweight fabric. Basically, place your lining fabric inside the bra cup, tuck in the excess and make a dart to accommodate the curves of the cup. I show how to do these in detail here: learn.sparklybelly.com/bdcw :) Good luck!!!

i have made it to the part of sewing the fabric onto the bra, can i put it through a machine or does it all have to be hand stitched?
@sparklybelly8 жыл бұрын
+jennell glasper Cool! You can use your sewing machine if that's possible :) If the bra is too thick for example, it's easier to just hand stitch.

@madmaddi1308 жыл бұрын
what clasp do you recommend for halter straps? do you just tie it round your neck? :)
@sparklybelly8 жыл бұрын
Sorry about my late response! I recommend a pant hook and bar closure, and if there's room, you can add a snap fastener for added security :) Based on my experience, tied straps don't give enough support, so I prefer closures or I just sew the entire thing together and slip it on through head :)

+Sparkly Belly thats okay! thank you for replying your videos have helped me so much I finally made a semi professional looking costume :) would you be able to do a tutorial on a double slit skirt? :)
@sparklybelly8 жыл бұрын
Oh that's so nice to hear! :D I'm happy to give that a try! I was actually thinking to do some sort of skirt tutorial. Do you have any pictures of the skirt you are envisioning? Could you send them to me at mao@sparklybelly.com?

here's a few tips worth trying 1. try the circle first This is the sexiest and simplest. All you need to do is feel the joints of your hip and shoulder and make a circle. 2. find some online lessons to follow. (I learned these and more tips on gabs mover crusher site )
