This was a great discussion to listen to especially as you touched on The Residents and one of my favourites Kraftwerk. If, when you come to recording a Kraftwerk album review, would you like a view from across the pond to go with your North American ones? A Britsh/European opinion???? On the subject of Sparks, I disagree with the opinion that Ron's lyrics aren't as good as Dylan, mmm no he is definitely out there. I think both Terminal Jive and Pulling Rabbits Out Of A Hat, get poor responses from most UK fans (Rabbits wasnt released in the UK for some reason). Whomp/Angst/Space are a definite 3sum album set /classics (Angst is in my top 5) but I have a greater love for Rabbits. Sparks did not tour those albums and those after from here on in, in the UK BTW. Wasnt too impressed by MYCDT (I was happy they didnt include Changes on it here in the UK as that was a superb stand alone single). Interior Design was mediocre bu had some bright spots including the excellent 12 inch remix of Just got Back from Heaven. Have subscribed. Great stuff.

The 1974 cd that you're referring to is a triple 50th anniversary cd of kimono my house, propaganda, and the b sides and demos from kimono. The packaging is the size of a 7 inch single. They've also released kmh on green vinyl and picture disc, and propaganda on blue vinyl and picture disc. My copies arrived a couple of weeks ago.

Angst is my favorite 80s Sparks that I have heard

For me, the 2000s to present are tied with the 70s, and the 80s and 90s are tied for second place. And the Halfnelson demo is in with the 70s level

Great video and discussion. I love Sparks. A friend I met in 1982 turned me on to Sparks, he was part of the fan club back then, and he introduced me and then I remembered the Rollercoaster movie, which I loved Big Boy and Filler Up. He had everything, but started me off with Angst in My Pants. I was really into punk then, but became a huge fan and loved that album, Whomp that Sucker, Terminal Jive, No. 1 in Heaven, I was hooked. Their 70’s and early 80’s output was brilliant! I just purchased the latest remaster of Propaganda on vinyl and it sounds great! I have Drip, Drip, Drip, but I think the girl crying in her latte sounds too similar. I’m hoping their next is a bit of a change. Ron and Russell are the most gifted and underrated artists in the music industry. Every time I mention them, people say who? Sad.

Sparks are one of my favorite groups. Love their 70s output, from the 80s, I only have Whomp That Sucker and Angst In My Pants. Both fine albums.
