Ron Mael has the attitude of that older brother who got stuck performing with his younger brother because their mother made him.

Great vibe here. The music is awesome....lyrics aren't too bad either. Respect to the Mael brothers and their pals. As a songwriter, Ron Mael is supremely talented.

At first I thought "Wait - Hitler plays the piano in an american band? That's new...". Then I read the comments and looked around the internet and indeed this guy is more like Chaplin. But nevermind, the music is very nice, need to listen to more of them

The band that defines that you are 'weirdo":. "Their distinctive sound has led to the accolade "the greatest band you've never heard of". Queen, Joy Division, Björk, New Order, Duran Duran and Morrissey all credit their musical influence"

I’ve never heard Queen Credit influence…I think that’s more conjecture amongst music writers. They both started around the same time. They did try to steal Brian May away around the time of Sheer Heart Attack.

He was a fan of old silent movies, such as Chaplin. Thereof his facial expressions, mimicking actors in that kind of movies. In the beginning of Halfnelson/Sparks he also had long hair and the mustache. Check photos from 1968 - 1973. 😨 In my opinion he did the right thing when he changed style. 😂😂😂

I thought it was odd when I saw a text between my not so significant other and his friend, writing this " If the cat goes, everything goes". He had just brought home a kitten he had found, who I named Bat Chain Puller, and I urged him to take it to a shelter because kittens are a lot of work, and owning pets in general is a huge responsibility. Based on his text, I can infer that the cat is everything since if the cat goes, everything goes. And since the cat is his and he tends to behave like a little girl most the time (constantly doing chick things like playing hard to get or putting hand on hip while sighing)...he must be the girl who has everything?

@@captainpeacock4442 nice reply but remember, not everywhere had the same music or taste in music. I was born in 1969 so my music tastes ended in about 1993. I think you need to have a connection to certain songs as I certainly do but I didn't hear or like everything. I just found Shane, Shame, Shame by Shirley and Company and vaguely remember it but somehow now, I listen to it at least 2 times a day. kzbin.info/www/bejne/i2HQm596edBmqqc See for yourself. His voice is amazing and she just has that certain spunkiness to her voice.

dan hemmerling I actually like that Shirley and Company record you mention,I’d forgotten all about it,going to put it on now.I get your drift with everything more or less you have said and yes your music taste does change through the years,I’m an old punk rocker who loves Radiohead and a bit of Juiceworld, and I was born in 1958 and I’m also female, even with a name like mine!.My music tastes never end.

@@captainpeacock4442 I found the song and now it just lifts me up. I can't get over his voice. I get home after work and I put on that, drivers seat, Baker Street and then get down with The Sweet, ABBA, Boney M and the list continues. It's nice that another free spirit answered my post as I do understand what's going on and I know that drugs aren't always the answer. Music lives in your inner being and embracing what makes you feel good. I also read a lot and listen to audiobooks. Good books to giggle by are Terry Pratchett, Douglas Adams, George Carlin and Bill Hicks should do something too.
