I review Sparks' new album, "The Girl Is Crying In Her Latte", and talk a little about the sound quality of the vinyl release as well as the digital version. #Sparks #islandrecords #vinylcommunity

I see ‘Take me for a ride’ as a game a couple are playing to spice up their love-life….Like many Sparks songs there are more to the lyrics than what you first hear. Been listening to Sparks for 49 years and love ‘em. As other bands have come and gone they have been the one musical constant (of sorts) producing great new music throughout the last half-century. The last two albums have been spectacular. Thanks for the review.

Always love your reviews, Bill. I didn't love the album - but I thought the same about Hippopotamus and I have changed my mind on that record.

Bill, Love that you reviewed the new Sparks album. Been a fan since Sparks (aka Halfnelson) & A Woofer In Tweeters Clothing due to Todd Rundgren /James Lowe production . Amazing albums not only because of the Mael brothers but also because of Jim & Earle Mankey and Harley Feinstein ... A great band. I was hope that this would be a return to form because even though I hung in with Sparks I have to admit that the last album that really struck a note with me had to be "Balls" back in 2000. Humour was always an important factor with Sparks but quite honestly the humour seem to take a back seat to repetitive lyric and a faux eurobeat that really goes nowhere. "Hippopotamus" and " A Steady Drip, Drip, Drip" had moments but seem to lose focus. But let's face it, you just can't give up on Ron & Russell because they are too unique and one never knows what's up their sleeves. Thanks again for a great review.

It takes at least three listens to really understand the record, the lyric sheet helps. Now it’s in your brain forever

Love me some Sparks. This new album is, indeed, a return to form. Way better than the last couple of albums, but that's just me.
