We all should regard guitarist Ian Hampton a true hero of the people. The man called out Jimmy Savile's behaviour to floor management at the Top of the Pops studio after he witnessed the scumbag exiting the set quietly with a very young female audience member. Obviously Ian wasn't listened to, and for that the BBC should hang it's head in shame for eteternity and a day. Not a lot of people might not know about you and what you did Ian, but i do. And for what you did the country owes you a massive thank you.

I bought it of course and then the album but I was gutted when the pathetic Rubettes stopped them from reaching Number One in the British charts. A couple of months later I went to live in London (I was there 47 years) so it was the start of two great adventures: following the ever-evolving music of Ron and Russell Mael and my every-changing life in the big city. I've seen Sparks many times over the years and they always give the fans a fantastic show. I was elated when they finally received the adulation they always deserved in recent years. Disagreed. Ron Mael in a 90s interview actually specified Get In The Swing as the track which Bo Rhap ripped off. But when I finally heard that song I thought the claim was ridiculous: it does have several different styles and a colossal Cecil B DeMille-scale production, but the main tune (for all the flash the song's structure is very conventional) is on the level of a crappy advertising jingle you'd hear on local radio.

One of the greatest songs ever !!! It was my 60th Birthday yesterday and I guess I don't look like your typical 60 year old and was asked several times about my diet, ? I'm vegetarian, Did I drink booze ? NO !, MaryJane & Dark chocolate are my go to's if I'm in need of a snack & some relaxation. Do I go to a gym or do Yoga or aeriobics ?. My answer was simply to say, Sparks ! You guys have a gaggle of tunes that I listen to often as they quickly offer the full body workout that I'm not gonna get with a fidbit, iPhone, or Yoga mat. BTW, that playlist of songs for daily rejuvination kicks off with the one two punch that kicks off Indiscreet, Hospitality On Parade and Happy Hunting Ground, and those songs represent my gateway drug for all things Sparks ! As I've been a fan since '74 xo

I heard this song after listening the Siouxsie And The Banshees cover, and I like the original, thousand of times.

Okay, I am ashamed to admit this, but after owning Siouxsie and the Banshee’s Through the Looking Glass since it was released in the 80’s only yesterday did I bother to listen to the original versions of the few songs I wasn’t familiar with, including this one. Two seconds in I said “wow” aloud as it was so much more impressive than the cover. Then I found the album on KZbin to see if it was just this song or if the band was amazing, two songs in I immediately found a copy and bought it. How shamefully tragic that it took me this long to find this incredible band!! Thank you for posting!

Elli P that’s a Richenbacker he’s playing. One of the most influential bass sounds of the 70’s and beyond. Been wanting one my whole life! Very distinctive sound. Check out “Night Fever”. by The Bee Gees for a definitive version of it!!

Not enough Ron on this video. Seeing Ron and his stare on TOTP when I was 8 was a seminal moment in my life! Somehow scary and re-assuring at the same time

I was 9 when this came out, and this was one of my absolute favourite songs as a kid. I've always loved it but now, at this age, with all the music I've heard since then, I also realise what an absolute masterpiece it is. Never gets old, just gets better

Dunno why people always have to say "before MTV" like there were no music videos before then. Even the Beatles made them.

@@norbertovelazquez7441 Other way round. Sparks supported Queen while this was flying high. A few months later, Bohemian Rhapsody. Who copied who?! Not complaining by the way, both amazing bands. But Sparks were doing this sort of stuff first.
