Is that you on the drums? That's pretty cool. What was it like working with the legendary Brothers Mael?

The show was shown live on the 16th November! The 11th was a Sunday that year!!

A typically cheeky lyric from our Ron. Presumably this song only got onto a children's TV show because the producers hadn't listened to the lyrics. No worse than pantomime innuendo though I guess and there was and still is plenty of that every season! 😉

To be honest, these lyrics should be taught in science/biology lessons! I find the way they broach the subject to be very scientific and clinical, not remotely crude. As I said in another comment that seems to have vanished, there's something very poignant about singing this to a crowd full of children who themselves were tryouts for the human race just a short while ago. It's so cosmic this song, and the way it swirls in with the flashing lights and effects really does make it seem like Sparks are beaming down from some distant outpost of the cosmos in order to take a closer look at these creatures we call Earthlings!

Rare moment in Sparks history when Ron had longer hair than Russell (at least in the front).

Dunno how they kept such straight faces, considering they got on kids' TV with that particular subject, er, matter...

I'm surprised this got onto a kid's programme without raising alarms.

Guarantee the producers didn't take a look at the lyrics - but probably thought "This is a really catchy tune - perfect for a children's programme at 5pm on a Friday Afternoon"!

@@JP1234815Must be the case. But I wonder if they realised afterwards.

Yes, a sparse electronic song is perfect for a Children's Television programme. Wendy Carlos on Blue Peter? And why not?

It's a children's show?! Lol and this song is about sperm... Uhh not that kids would necessarily realize that I guess 😂

Nobody seemed to mind Ron Mael looking like Hipster Hitler either 🤣🤫 I love the band but he definitely had the Reich kind of mustache back then
