SPARRING with Tyrone Spong for my UFC 258 TITLE FIGHT

Gilbert "Durinho" Burns is in the gym just over a week out from his UFC Welterweight Title fight with former training partner Kamaru Usman. In this video, world class kickboxer Tyrone Spong makes an appearance and helps Gilbert out with some looks as the two fighters move around together in the cage. Gilbert Alexander Pontes Burns, is a Brazilian professional mixed martial artist and submission grappler who currently competes in the welterweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). As a grappler, Burns is a three-time World Champion and World Cup gold medalist.

Ah man seeing Tyrone go at it again gives me so much nostalgia. Remember coming back from training taking a shower making myself ready to go with the whole kickboxing gym to our local bar in The Hague to watch him tearing people apart in K1 and later in Glory. Such a shame he broke his leg against Saki. Both him and Saki we’re my favorites. He was the scariest fighter on the roster after Badr Hari. Good times man jeez

I am the other 10%, not saying I want to/want my partner to be trying to take my head off but this typa sparring isnt helping me get better at slipping & countering a untelegraphed right hand or get use to taking shots & immediately firing back.

@@Toolie716 i think if both you and your sparring partner have a good sense of what punches do and what don't go through, it shouldn't be an issue. but if it works for you sure you can have full contact sparrings. i just think the damage you take in those is unnecessary, especially if you don't have in mind to compete at a reasonably high level.

@@LuckSMTS comin from an poor country and knowing whats hunger is and startin with combat sport and proving in the biggest mma organization and taking the UFC BELT with domination its different kind of STRONG MENTALITY and that gives me also big motivation as an amateur fighter, people hate on kamaru but they all weak and cant even do something positive things in their live because that they hatin on him KAMARU IS DIFFERENT BREED and thats why im rooting for him, but u need to respect Gilbert i think thats most difficult fight for kamaru im excited for this one
