yo as a vet we didnt even use side plates and swimmers cut wasnt even a thing in '06-'07 Iraq, at least not to us. Back then I would have killed to have swimmers cut plates and shaved some weight. Those old SAPIs were heavy af. Im about to drop the visa hammer on Spartan and get some of these swimmer slabs for the wifey and I. Good little quick showcase of the product without the fat and fluff. Thanks. Im just gonna say 99.9999999999% of anyone that is buying body armor right here and now today is going to run with their tail between their legs the first time a hunk of flying badguys metal flies past you. So... since most of folks are gonna be running for their lives you might as well get the lightest armor you can wear. Heavy shit will just get you dead fast unless your hitting the steel at the gym every week and running or biking all the time. Most people buying this armor is probably fat and out of shape. Not being a dick. Just putting it out there for you to think about. Put these plates on and go jogging around the block and in a few weeks of eating some clean chicken and broccoli you should be in better shape to flee or fight, whatever you choose. Lots of good old boys are gonna die the minute shit hits the fan from blood pressure and painful knees from not caring for themselves. All the fancy gear in the world don't mean shit if your biology is made out of bon bons and ho ho cakes.

Couldn’t have said it better, brother.. I wear heavy shit mostly to run up n down those hill so I can build my strength n stamina. That’s 1 thing guy’s aren’t doin out there. You gotta be fast n light on your toes weather you’re going heavy or light.

Get same exact plate in front and back. If front plate takes hits, you can swap and have the same feel in front out of, what use to be the back plate.

Swimmers cut definitely has less coverage UNTIL your taking aim, at that point it real comforts itself around ur torso. Disadvantage is since it’s covers less area the smart thing to do is use a swimmers cut under and a full set up chest rig over it

if you are having issues with your swimmers cut or shooters cut plate moving side to side, then simply run a stitch line at an angle on either side of the top of the plate to tighten the pocket. This stitch can easily be removed later with a seam ripper if you wish to go to a different shape plate.

Remember body armor is body armor and its supposed to protect you from a bullet ending your life on the spot. I wouldn't start cutting corners , in the end when you're in a fire fight you're gonna need as much protection as you want. Body armor is small enouh.

When you're in a firefight, mobility is survivability. Size adds weight. Add too much weight and you become a tactical no-go.

People can buy all the fancy heavy armor they want but can you carry it much less run a quarter mile with it on, much much less while having el Liberal the spazoid shooting at you with his gun.

Or, hear me out. You could spend a little bit more money plus save weight through higher rated full coverage ceramic body armor that won’t spall your groin/throat into shreds. Everyone knows that truck bedliner they slap on steel plates is useless garbage. Your call.

Everyone knows the multi hit rating sucks for ceramic it also has a shorter shelf life 5 yrs vs 20yrs +. So unless you are in the military where you can replace your armor every time it takes a hit or every 5yrs. steel with a full coat build up is a no brainer for the average Joe.
