1:45 OMG me too !! My mag pouches setup is exactly like this (rifle mag pouches on the PC, pistol mag pouches on the belt). I've wondered for such a long time if anyone has a similar configuration because almost everyone I've seen always run their rifle mag on their belt. Thank you for such an informative video !!

Thank you for this very informative video. In 1966 when I got to Viet Nam where I joined the Wolfhounds infantry unit in the Iron Triangle. Body armor was mush easier to elect and put on. You took your armored pants and put your left leg in first ,then your right leg , then you buttoned the fly and buttoned the top of the armored jungle pants. You then did the same thing with your armored jungle shirt. The technology was better then because both the top and bottom weighed less than 1.2 pounds. Speaking of load-out a rifle man carried as many mags. as possible,usually 22 mags. and 1 in the A2. You would be surprised how fast you go through mags. in a serious fire fight in the jungle! After 8 months I volunteered to be a Huey Door Gunner and saw the 1st real armor,it was some sort of high tech composite about 1.25" thick and took two people to put it on.The plate in the carrier was very heavy and you put your arms straight-out and your buddy then folded the huge Velcro straps around your back while you held the armor in place. My carrier only took one hit in 12 months of flying and 5 crashes caused by unfriendly fire! The bullet hit 12" under my chin and went through the nylon cover and made a mark about 1/4" that you could barely find. I took a picture of it but you really could not see it ! I am looking forward to getting my SHTF armor system !!

Served in Marines in infantry during Iraq war, we jumped for miles on west side of eufraties river. One piece of advice I would give anyone balance your load. Might not be a big deal at first, but hump for a distance or wear for 12-18 hrs straight. Great vid.

Really appreciate this video and the services Spartan offers…ya’ll save lives. I was shot two times, one to the left upper chest & one to my lower left abdomen. I still live with one round in me, non removable. Getting the “golden bee bee” definitely will stop your days itinerary. So, I wanted to ask a question. Regarding a good carrier system that’s affordable for people like myself…thoughts? And this question is open to all…many thanks to you all at Spartan Armor!

Thanks Ian, glad to hear you made it through that ordeal. A good yet affordable plate carrier is our Achilles, but the Tactical Response Kit is also a good setup if you're looking for more of a minimalist rig.

@@zupp.social Nice! No…I actually don’t but I did! lol…I was issued a card to carry, no joke. Now a “Whites” or “Garret” metal detector seems to pick up the copper jacketing, but…scar tissue has grown around all the pieces & bullet, much like a pearl forms layers. Unfortunately this means the objects in my back & chest grow larger year after year, impeding on other parts of my body such as my chest & back (where one bullet lay today). But I appreciate your TSA aka travel beep comment! Humor helps! Truly. Be well…

@@SpartanArmorSystems Thank you for your response. I really appreciate it. What I’ve learned for myself regarding body armor is it’s extreme importance for everyone. I’ve conducted my own research with body armor, in hopes of producing affordable solutions to body armor for average citizens, unable to purchase higher level body armor. I truly enjoy Spartans AR+ system in its ability to protect at higher levels with such multi strike capabilities , which has been perfected by Spartan. However, it is so very heavy, more suited for less dynamic applications. Most importantly I have a true appreciation for life, which translates to the advancement of body armor. On a personal level I’ve found the AR steel line much too heavy, as my injuries prevent me from wear these, leaving unused panels. Even more important, the opportunity to learn, be apart of a team that protects life. I respectfully ask I may be considered for any entry level positions at Spartan Armor Systems. Research and development would truly be amazing. 😊 Be well! And thank you for your time.

This is a very good video. I really appreciate the breakdown of each setup and also going over mistakes. I’m in no way an expert like you and I don’t claim to be. I just got the sentinel carrier. Hope I never need it but I have it if I do.

If you run the HSGI mag pouch molle, do you have to purchase additional HSGI pistol molle pouch to add the combo look or do they sell as a set? I see the double decker option but not sure if that can attach via molle? TIA!

What about steel plates over soft body armor

Ha, I was about to buy a plate carrier and level 3 plates for it, but found out in Europe, at least my country, civilians are not allowed to wear it. I had in plans to buy a level 3 helmet too lol. Guess Ivan can put some holes in me if he will come to get me🙂 Anyways, I got a question: why are plate carriers so small compared to the human torso? I notice most of them are around belly button level, so roughly a palm width above and below it is unprotected. Why? A wound to the belly level is probably one of the worst death you can get, almost 100%. I know from my grandpa that most who were shot in the belly/lower belly, they used to shoot the wounded to save him from pain. Looks like plate carriers are allowing that area to be unprotected. Is there a better option for protection to that area?
@SpartanArmorSystems2 жыл бұрын
That's too bad your country doesn't allow civilians to wear body armor. Maybe that will change in the future. Modern day body armor is made to protect your vital organs heart, lungs, etc. If you shot anywhere else you should in most cases live to fight another day. Thanks for you questions. Stay Safe

I feel like 6 mags minimum is ideal. Who knows what threat youll ever face or how many rounds youll miss. Or how many people youll have to fight off. Or how many times youll have to shoot suppressing fire to allow a team member time to move. You run out of ammo your done. More ammo the better in my opinion I've seen plenty of marines carry 7-8 mags just because multiple fire fights etc...
@megawolfr19862 жыл бұрын
Correct me if I'm wrong, but they don't all need to be on your chest rig in front right? Can't you have some back up mags in a assault pack?

@@megawolfr1986 6 on plate carrier is ideal for me couple extras in a bag is good too. Maybe even a few stripper clips as well Would be a good set up

@@Aron_J wouldn't it be more optimal to have 3 on your chest and 3 on your battle belt?

@@nomad155 its all preference, some people don't like battle belts... its opinionated ... so 3-4 on chest 3 on your side or battle belt whatever you prefer. Just depends how you like it set up... fact is more mags the better imo.
