I love this knife. I originally purchased the Bark River Gunny. I love the Gunny too, but at half the cost the Alala is almost identical. The blade geometry is different between the two knives, but both are good. I've purchased one for almost all of my family as gifts. Nothing says you care like a Spartan Blade.

Very cool testing demo. Thanks for this. I have been really curious about this knife. I have wanted to get my hands on a Spartan fixed blade since getting the Astor folder. I'm glad they are offering some more affordable blades, and being made by Ka-bar, I figured this had to be pretty damn solid. It has a cool look to it, and I love that it comes stock with canvas micarta handle scales. Clearly it can tackle any camp chore one might have, and can probably even slide into a survival role, but I was really wondering if this could be a viable edc fixed blade. I typically dont edc a fixed blade over 7.5", but for this I'm willing to make an exception if it is AT ALL reasonable if not practical to do so. The 6 oz package is certainly no problem at all to crossdraw carry. Can you share any insights from your experience with it? Have you carried it in an urban setting at all, or only in the wilderness? Thanks again for the video my friend. Great job

Best price there is. I'm gonna get it. Can it be squeezed into an urban EDC role in your opinion?
