LOVE how you touch on all of the real deal issues when choosing a knife for tactical purposes....sheath system, fingers sliding up the blade during contact, gloves or not etc. Real deal right here.

not sure which video you watched, but he didn't even talk about the blades themselves, the steels used, grinds, edges, anything. not real deal.

Good video. I like the Bastinelle too, from what I see here too. I carry the "The Operator" by Tactix, which is a good knife using the dimensions here. A hidden thin blade 4-5" in a kydex sheath carried in the pocket comfortably and can be pulled out with one hand easily if necessary for self-defense can save your life.

Just retired after 30 years with the CG. I carried knives everyday…actually required to do so for some jobs. Being a Boatswains Mate I used a knife each and everyday and had many, many knives (still do to this day) and I had the Ontario RAT 3 for 13 years. That knife did anything I needed…even cutting the steak the mess cooks over did😉. Great all around knife without spending all your cash on a fancy name.

Bro love the list. And I feel exactly what you’re talking about with the Bastinelli. Christian’s ergos are top shelf! You should check out the Askari and the Sin for conceal carry

Nice looking knives. I have to agree with you on that first blade. Scales to thicken the grip would have been better, but if that's not an option, then they should round over the edges of the gripping area, otherwise you won't want to use it. I have big hands to so a comfortable grip is a must.
@joshuareed39992 жыл бұрын
I have this knife. Benchmade agrees that the grip is thin, which was intentional. That's why they send it with paracord to whap the grip with, along with instructions on how to do that effectively. If you'd rather get custom scales for it you can find some on ebay. Good knife for the money in my opinion.

I think tactical blade is the most beautiful category in the knife world, while relatively useless at the same time. It's not easy to have a situation that you have to stab someone or some animal in daily life, even as a soldier. However, I just think about buying a Benachmade Adamas 375 as a camping knife. And I find a well handle set supplier, nearly costing me another $18.

A great review. I would really like to see you review Half Face Blades, Winkler Knives and Toor Knives against each other. All 3 blade companies are of top quality. I would live you have your opinion on which of the 3 are #1.

Only problem with Spartan blades kydex is they are not lined and even though the knives are on lifetime warranty it sucks to see my sheath damaging the coating of the blade as well as rolling onto the blade itself. A simple suede lining would fix that right up.. But black bear kydex makes custom sheaths that are pretty badass.
@blackfootman40318 ай бұрын
I would keep your blade very lightly coated with mineral oil because the mineral oil absorbes into the dlc and helps with the wear resistant between your blade and the kydex sheath! It works well with my Spartan blades Ronin Shinto with a kydex sheath and mineral oil is food safe as a bonus.👍

Am looking for a full Tang, 6.5" blade, with straight blade maybe an inch and a quarter wide 440,420 stainless, with a metal hilt, and maybe checkered grips. Basically, a German scout dagger circa about 1943. Might just go with a buck 119, but, really want straight blade,flat handle

If you noticed, benchmade eventually discontinues many of their knives because they just can't get enough people to buy them. The Adamas is about a 4-inch blade that can rust. It has a bad sheath. It has no handle scales, and they want $250 for it. That's beyond absurd.

Add my spartin Ronin Shinto to the list of knives that came dull and have been impossible to get truly razor sharp
@robertbristol16222 жыл бұрын
I have two myself and I believe they do that on purpose so that it will cut but not have a fragile edge that comes with a razor sharp edge, thus making it stronger. That’s just my theory because I wondered the same thing at first. Also look up Dutch Bushcraft Survival on KZbin. They have a spectacular channel where they go over many different knives.
@blackfootman4031 Жыл бұрын
@@JensenAzotea I bought the Ronin Shinto s45vn and a DMT 600grit diamond steel I was able to get a razer sharp twenty two degree angle with a bit of patience! My Shinto was fairly dull also but she will pop a hair now! Spartan blades fix blades come with a twenty two degree angle but you could sharpen with a twenty degree angle and still have a tough edge for bush craft. 👍

@@blackfootman4031 good to hear! Mine is in s35vn but I’ve actually heard a few people suggest 600 grit for it aswell so I’ll have to give it a go. And yes I actually used a work sharp grinder to reduce the angle and put a much more convexed edge on it. Now it will cut hair but that’s only by putting quite a bit of pressure, almost feels like it’s pulling hair

S.B. Phrike is designed for oposite revers grip then you carry. Blade side to your body, not from your body. The back of the handle is designed perfectly for it. Tim Waid, USA Special Forces Pekiti-Tirsia Kali instructor show it on video perfectly. Next time better study what knife design you show us.
