Joe, Thanks for taking a look at that knife and putting it through some good testing in a bunch of materials. No one asked but I did prototype that knife by hand including shaping the handles freehand in micarta. Yes my concepts always start with pencil and paper for initial concept before any steel is cut. If memory serves I have hand ground over 750 blades for Spartan too. The Spartan guys are a great team to work with. I'm lucky to work with them. Thank you again Joe! Ps. we will talk about that battoning thing later. 😁

Mr.Harsey, I am honored to hear from you on my video. I Truly & whole heartedly adore your concepts & designs. the Balance, comfort & performance is testament to your talent as an iconic KnifeMaker/designer; and ofcourse of late to the outstanding work that Spartan Blades is putting out. I am so impressed at your career and list of accomplishments. My goal is to be able to experience as many of your designs as possible and share them on my channel; they are all Grail knives for me after all..LOL..I just completed your Kukri Video and I am going To be working on the Nesmuk next, which is one the best feeling handles I have ever griped...Would love to talk about Batoning one day...😜😂 Also We have to try and have you on Blade Talk with Scab & I one day..it would be an Epic event. Sincerely & with much appreciation, Joe

Thanks for the review, Joe. No apologies here ... what's my answer to the question "If I can have only one knife to save my life / to have in battle" ... it's the Difensa (for me right now ... the S45VN version). Big Kudos to Spartan Blades. Great to see the Magnacut performing well.

Great Review Brother. I do love this knife and like you said it's a vibe knife it just feels like you would expect it in your hand. To answer what you said on Instagram yes I do have one actually, I have two, one in S45VN and one in Magnacut. Normally I only get one knife of any model unless I really like the model then I might get another one in a different steel. I bet you got a better deal than I did lol. Great job on the review and of course perfect videography and Photos.

Awesome review! One of the few online videos that shows the new Difensa in Magnacut model in actual use. BTW, is the spine rounded or is it sharp / squared off enough to strike a ferro rod? Thanks for your your feedback on this legendary knife!
@JoeSteel1
@JoeSteel1 3 ай бұрын
Many kind thanks, was a pleasure, the edge is more rounded, you may be able to strike a rod if you really angle it right, if that's why you ask, but have not tried,

I meant to ask in my other comment .does it have a sharp spine? Will it strike a feral rod?
@JoeSteel1
@JoeSteel1 16 күн бұрын
It was a 90° angle spine, sharp enough to strike a rod...well but not great like a much more acute spine of a bush craft knife

@JoeSteel1 Ай бұрын
@Altogolik Hey, why not, it's got the pvd coating and MAGNACUT will be excellent corrosion resistant and hold an edge cutting food forever..😄 but profile may not be good for dicing cuts
