Very cool man. Looks like you had a great time. Nice crispy footage...AMAZING scenery. I do worry with the Spartans and Ironman's of the world taking over races...it's going to get expensive. Hopefully some of the independent RD's stay strong!

I agree. Not a fan of the Spartan format. I hope it doesn’t take the sport down a bad path. But this is a fantastic course!

Hi steven, love the video, thank you. I signed up for the 50k in ‘22 then found your video. I’m so glad I did. I came over from the UK for the TNF50 in Nov 19 but was injured so didn’t run. So after injury and Covid I finally get to run in the Marin Headlands. If you’re there this year it would be great to say hi and down a beer at the finish.

Thanks, Paul! It is such a beautiful race! I hope you enjoy it! I’m pretty certain I won’t be there this year unfortunately, otherwise a beer would be great!

I can't believe I missed this video!! I ate up the pre and post race videos and missed this gorgeous video of an epic day!! What breathtaking trails, I'm so glad they haven't developed that land, though the temptation must be great for many. That last climb up that little bank at the end was cruel! 😆 PRing your half marathon, during a hilly 50k, after months of recovering from injury... you are a beast!!

So glad you found it now! Haha yes that little 3 foot bank was cruel for sure. Ha thanks, Kelly!

Do you only get to run across the bridge in the early morning? You don’t get to see much but cars then. I am planning on doing this race in November. Thanks for the preview.

Great job Steven! Those views were incredible!!! How did the Zinals hold up, would you have preferred a road style shoe instead? Is it typical for ultras to start in the dark? Do you then have to carry your lights the rest of the way or do you drop them off at the aid stations? Sorry for the dumb questions.
@UltraTrailSteven2 жыл бұрын
Thank you, Sage! The Zinal was a perfect choice! I would not have wanted a road shoe. Some of the trails were slick in areas. My feet felt amazing the whole way in the Zinal. Yes, most ultras start in the early morning dark because they generally have a 9ish hour cutoff. Yes, generally you carry the light the rest of the race. Especially if it is required gear.
