Just discovered the app. For such a well thought out app, I'm surprised the more social aspects have been either removed or not used. For example, challenges are gone (even though they're still in the menu). And almost no one uses the "trailhead". For example, those new to trail running has 178 members but in two years only 6 posts, and one is a new one I just posted. But I'm going to start a training plan on Monday and see how it goes. Maybe next year I'll opt for the paid app so I can get some personal coaching. Thanks for the review!!!

Yes this would be great for traveling. Super compact and lightweight. It has held up just fine.

Interesting review. Not used a cheststrap for years, but am looking to improve my vo2 max,and thought it would be useful. I did own a Polar model around 10 years ago that worked well and did not cost the earth. I currently use a Fitbit 5, and its estimate is between 45 and 49. As a baby boomer that seems a tad too generous, so thought I'd go for the Cooper Test on the treadmill. Anyhow, thanks for sharing.

I've had the Hoka Mach X for a couple months now and the only thing I can use it for is recovery runs. It feels too heavy and clunky to do speed work in. I just can't get could turnover like I can other daily trainers. It's odd because It's advertised as a speed trainer but it's really comfortable and works best for me at slower paces. Not one of my favorite shoes especially at the $180 price but I know all people are different.

Interesting! Maybe try the Mach 6. I really like it and it feels better than the Mach X in my opinion

Looks like a great watch. I know you said you like the coros eco system but how do you feel it compares to Suunto, polar and Garmin ecosystems?
@UltraTrailSteven4 күн бұрын
FAR superior to Polar. Polar Flow app is outdated and slow. Suunto is pretty good, but a bit slower than the COROS app. Garmin is pretty good too. I prefer the UI of COROS.

Great review in a fun shoe. I felt that the shoe wasn't too wide, but like you, there seem to be just a tad too much upper fabric requiring me to pull those laces more than usual. Despite that, it was comfortable around my foot (even with a thin tongue). I do wish the upper sides had more structure to hold my foot from moving side to side on uneven trails, but otherwise, it's a blast of a shoe to run in and really excels on gravel roads vs single track trails.

Good review. I have some issues with close focusing. You did not address in your video. I use the camera underwater and one of the features I was looking for is some close wide angle videos. I bought these shoes for work. I am a driver for UPS. They are amazing. I love them and Hoka. But after 34 days the bottoms started coming off. I do walk 8miles a day with a ton of stairs and hills, but barely lasting a little over a month is crazy. They allowed me send them back and get another pair so I'm hoping it was just that previous pair.

So ADV12 is an amazing vest with tons of pockets and more elasticated than the Active series. But there's also the S/Lab series and the Sense Pro! I struggle to find a video that would show and explain all the differences between current generations of the S/Lab, Sense Pro and Adv Skin series. Could you make that one?
@UltraTrailSteven13 күн бұрын
Unfortunately, I do not have any of the S/Lab vests. I do have the Sense Pro 5, and I have a full video on it.

@@UltraTrailSteven cheers mate. No worries. Just trying to make sense (heh) of their lineup. From what I got so far their S/Lab Pulsar (3L) has the most breathable back, just a single layer of perforated textile but is not widely available. Seems the best for quick races though. Their older S/Lab Sense used to have the similar single-layer back but is no longer a thing. The current S/Lab Ultra has a tad more capacity and sliiightly less breathable back. And the current Sense Pro looks like it's on par with that. Thanks for doing great reviews and for finding time to reply! Appreciate it.

I've been using the Apex Pro for a month - I bought it as I wanted the integrated quiver. The top sternum strap has been replaced with an Inov8 one as I couldn't keep the elasticated strap tensioned, it constantly slipped and I ended up triple knotting it as short as I could get it. Replacing this with a solid one has meant the pack has stayed put on my shoulders when fully laden. I do like the lower strap being elasticated, as I'm not the slimmest of chaps! I have a size large and the pockets don't seem any bigger than you described - I have lost gels out of them, but then discovered the extra internal mesh that solved this. Additionally, a few of the pull tab elastics have snapped as the tab was where the elastics were joined. The whistle holder hasn't worked on a single run and it popped out and starts bouncing, so that has been removed. Despite the niggles, I find it far more comfortable than my Inov8 10L vest and will be using it on upcoming events. Agree - bottle bite valves are weird and at an odd angle for use with valve in the open position.
