On Pc, Izumo in the past was a terrible ship to play, and i myself used Free Xp to get to Yamato, but in recent years she got a Giga buffs that makes her a menace to be respected. Fun fact: Izumo used to have 3 separate hulls you had to grind through with the current ship model being the old C hull. A hull had more 155mm guns on the stern, but had worse AA than Musashi , B hull had equivlant AA to Musashi but with a few more 25mm and two additional 127mm guns. C hull (which is the Izumo model we know and love/hate today) got significantly more 127mm AA than B hull, and gave up two 155mm guns turrets leaving just one left.

The thing I currently hate about the Izumo is when you have to go broadside for for all turrets for people who are bad at the dread shuffle 😢

On the PC version, this ship was EPICALLY bad. This was done on purpose by Wargamming, making a tech tree ship so bad, it encourages people to spend money to free XP beyond it. The Izumo and Furitaka were those ships on the Japanese line. The Colorado and Pensacola were those ships on the US line.

It can actually take a phenomenal amount of hits if you face AWAY, fire over your shoulder while sort of looking back, you can have a pretty good game.

I think most of the boats in game can be bad, it's just about who uses them right, but the izumo is very difficult to play, but once you understand the game with her, she can be darn good, it also depends on the playing style, the izumo has a hide and seek style that hides abit behind, and shoots over the shoulders of the others ships on the team due to her poor protection, and her bad gun layout, but once uve learned to hide well or play sneeky ig, it can be very dangerous as long as your not targeted by cv’s, or more enemy ships at once👌🙌

I like KII ...an Amagi with cheeky, punchy, Japanese Torps. If they had put some meaty torps on the Izumo then that might have made it at least more interesting

I just don't like the gun config at the front, I much prefer them to be like the French config if the guns are all at the front, bigger guns/more to a turret

lol JB has all its guns in front, and you love it! Its a ship that you like it or not 100%. For me, it works, I manage to score decent XP from it. Once the enemy feel the pain of its guns, they start to run away from me. I pay on PC anyway

Had the free xp to get an 8 and i was looking at this.... I was turned off because ive never heard anything at all about the ship, never see them, and hate the Amagi. I just hate that it feels uniquely sluggish and the guns just miss for me. But the Izumo has gotta massive open deck of nothing so i just imagined AP bombs citadelling me all day. Its a yamato with none of the benefits

I'm giving up with ships on pc, can't even buy a tier 5 ship, because it requires dabloons for the slot, I'm at tier 9 on some and Teri 8 on others but can't even go back and start a new line because of the dabloons being needed 😭😭😭😭

Izumo is a very fine battleship. I've had plenty of great matches with it. It's a little different to play and it actually has personality, in my opinion. Some patience may be required and that's not Spartan's way in most respects, which is also fine. Spartan is an entertainer / player, keep that in mind. He's not everyone and everyone is not him so what we have here is a grain of salt opinion about a ship. You do you Spartan The rest of the players of this game will take care of themselves and play the ships they enjoy. Izumo is very good and I like it....personality and all.

I mean tbf. Izumo(and IJN dispersion logic in general) doesn't fit the aggressive playstyle and the overall philosophy of the game bc IJN dispersion requires you to have distance so closing that distance . You lose that dispersion buff the same way Russian's lose theirs at 11km+. If they changed the logic then I'm sure Izumo would be significantly better....but it's WG. What do we now. Lmao.
