There's no excuse to be that monumentally useless in a tier 8 TECH TREE ship. How some players go through an entire line and still remain clueless is actually incomprehensible.

Hey Spartan. I had a similar game like this a couple hours ago, I was in the Iowa just for funsies, and I was (as always) the one getting beat up by the whole enemy team, but this time the carrier was on top of me the entire time. I shot down 91 planes, and did what I could to survive getting manhandled the entire time. Truly a fun experience, I ended up second on the leaderboard despite doing essentially nothing.

I really do think if a ship is spotted from the carrier in open water with no obstacles in front of it. It should let you shoot it or at least a certain radius. I had the same issue. I’m in the cap with a dd 6km in front of me and not do anything with my engine knocked out

They need to do something indeed. Because if there is something worse than being focused in a BB by a CV it is to be focused in a destroyer by those planes… For BB I think they need to upgrade belt armor protection for torpedo, and for destroyer upgrade AA defenses and their range maybe…

I will say you should always turn into a torpedo strike, not away. It is funny, it was the CV relaunch that caused to to quit the PC version of WOWS. The PC version went from a surface warfare game to a carrier damage farming simulator.

Yeah. I made the mistake of playing Yamato twice this update. Both time my team were way too passive and I got farmed by a CV in the first game, and people hiding behind islands the second. This is the most anti- battleship update in this game's history honestly. (I've played since the beta)

Elbing is able to pen battleships thinner Armour because of the fuse on it takes little Armour to detonate so superstructures are easy to get damage off of especially in American and German battleships it can over pen destroyers if they are closer and flat broadside but most of the time destroyer players are angled witch gives the ap shell more time to detonate in the ship

1 Carriers are way OP, 2 you cant see the damn things until you're on top of them, 3 they ruin the game, 4 Invisible destroyers, and way too many of them also trash the game., 5 why the hell did WG think we needed to make carriers to f ing powerful. FFS. this game needs some serious overhauling. Less powerful armaments, longer matches, no invisble ships, (Shima, Jeager) and lets face it carriers need to be visible from greater distances, and maybe as a trade off, make them harder to kill.

The update has clearly made CV play one dimensional. There’s no team play here- just focus the nearest ship and 3-D print planes until they die. Lather, rinse, repeat. Without spotting, light cruisers are junk. Without spotting, BB’s are nothing but CV targets. It really means the entire game is dependent on good DD players.

Carriers weren't that bad before this update, a decent player could get work done. But now its a nightmare unless you build into AA. Considering i see carriers every single match now the only things I take out are US cruisers built as heavy AA like Salem, AL Montpelier, Rochester, and Baltimore. BBs just aren't worth playing right now. If you get focused by the enemy CV that's it, you're dead unless you blob with your team and overwhelm the squadrons but that can lead to easier targets from enemy surface ships, and the destroyers that can pretty much remain invisible thanks to only being found through luck or radar.

In my opinion if the carriers where gonna be buffed (cus lets be honest, carriers feel absolutely powerful rn) they just needed some plane HP and that's it. But they gave planes more ordenace and more planes per squadron. I think that ships need an AA buff to overall damage, because rn BB AA is dogsheet, cruiser AA is bad too, but cruisers have the mobility to dodge a lot of the ordenace bieng dropped. But I think spotting has been the main issue, because most DD players don't spot anything and carriers used to be the best spotting for the teams when DDs where cowarding behind islands. But hopefully I can play cruisers again on monday, because playing cruisers these past few days (especially island hopping cruisers like Shimanto) has been a pain in the no no space. Edit: and keep in mind, AA in american ships is especially fenomenal, and it's still useless against the carriers at their tiers, even California that has more than 90 AA in tier V is horrible against carriers (except the german one for some reason based on my experience). It's been bad XD

This update is why i like gamepass, currently playing Jedi Survivor. Carriers in real life are overpowered and changed navy combat forever, for a video game they are complerely broken because it removes the risk/reward gameplay of the other ship classes, theres just rewards for playing a carrier. People saying this update are fine are quite happy to throw away a good game balance and playerbase for selfish reasons. When im playing the objective in my destroyer in lucky if i get past 100k in any given game and ill be top of the scoreboard.

Before carrier update the enemy CV ruin my battle as a destroyer by attacking me all the time - in this case the two smoke isn't enough. Now with this update enemy CVs don't have to do that because the kill my destroyer with one good attack. Just great! I remember when on PC carriers had only map view to control their planes. In that time a good carrier player could affect the centire battle even if the AA booster consumable of the ships was standalone so they didn't have to choose instead of any other one. With this plane view the aiming became way more better. But as we see it wasn't enough... The console version became ruined enough when CVs came into but now... It is ridiculous.

No lie, I came back to WOW after a few years and started my painful grind on American BB's. Decided to go back and just play the Chester, crusiers are well balanced now... Anyway felt like switching it up the other day in a New York, sorry this is where everyone will tell me you can't use such an OP ship. I know... Lasted a minute in the game got one slavo off in a tier 5 battle!! Death by carrier it wasn't even close. Decided not to play anything but cruisers for the forseeable future.

Carriers did not obsolete the battleships....they just took over the primary role that battleships used to have. American battleships had no trouble shooting down planes during ww2 and there was a reason they were brought back so many time after ww2. Battleships as a support role were Fantastic.

I see many Positives and Negatives The Spotting Mechanic, to me at least, seems more realistic, as in, say, WW2, if a aircraft squadron sees a ship, the task force is likely hundreds of miles away, so they can't physically see it, they just have a position to report If you understand, you understand, not everyone will and that's ok . One thing I'd suggest is the Spotter and Fighter consumables full spot enemies for the ship which they were launched from, and give a position report on the mini map for everyone else, making a old Fighter spotting over an Island tactic possible again, while staying true to the spotting mechanic change

That was a dream game, I had one yesterday in The South Carolina where I spawned on a flank, was picked on by the carrier and got to make 1 long range shot at a dd (which missed) before the carrier (A Rhein) sank me. I had no AA so no planes shot down. And yes, I did dodge some torps but the b**tard just kept coming back!

Ok. I get it now. This update sucks. Unless you are an American BB, you have no chance in shooting down planes. I got the Wichita recently, and aircraft are a lot more annoying now. In addition, they are WAY TOO FAST so it won’t take a few seconds to get focused by a carrier. Plus the rentals, now they’re everywhere. I really hope WG does the right thing and either buffs AA or reworks the rework

What they should do is buff ship's AA range maybe 8k to 9k. Plus I don't think it's right that cruisers and BB fighter planes don't spot ship's they shouldn't got a nerf. I think CV fight planes for dive bombers should put a heal out for it's team members while they are flying over friendly ship's and the torpedoes planes could put up a smoke screen while they are flying over there flight path

8-9k is basically the spotting distance from the air for many ships, 8-9k is a MASSIVE radius for an overlapping AA bubble, it would be impossible to fly the planes anywhere. I think the damage should be much more potent, or increase the range by somewhere between 1-3 KMs

Its a Irritating update, but we have to adapt to the new way of playing the game. So maybe, first all destroyers have to focus on sinking the opponents carrier. That means that other ships have to protect the carrier. The carrier will be the centre of the strike group. And the strike group has to stick together but not to close to each other. Playing the game with the carrier, i only attack lone wulfs like you because then less planes wil be shot down. Stick in a group,or better say formation, and a carrier doesnt have a chance. To much air defence.

If we have that can we also have realistic DD torpedo reloads, as in those torpedo turret launchers on the deck were to unwieldy to be reloaded at sea without access to a Dock crane and the in game models very clearly have no ammunition handling equipment on deck that would facilitate reloading the torpedo launchers after they're fired.

The problem is not the speed alone or damage, its the fact that it doesent matter if you loose planes because you Get new ones way to fast. One should be forced to pick carefully what ship to attack over the risk of loosing planes and as it is today there is no risk.

Honestly Carrers have been lacking for awhile. Before this update they were just there. Most of the time they were absolute dog water. I think it's a good change to give the some livability but I do see what you mean. If wargaming just increased/tweked the damage/ hit rate of the AA for all ships I think this would be a good thing and actually up the playability of the game

Damage overall decrease, bomb accuracy nerf and bomb load mainly 4 down to 3 per plane, speed decrease with legendary carriers getting slight health nerf per plane. PS this is 1st wave it seems because this is only for tier 7 carriers and legendary exception being independence buff and Saipan buff

I only wish i had a legendary tier carrier since the midway and the other japenese one look completely broken since the rework. I managed to use my saipan 1 week after months of grinding and get glorious credits. was averaging around 800k a match and now im barely hitting 6 or 700k trying my absolute best.. will see how bad it is again after todays rework. I wouldn't call Mondays hot fix a fix They're buffing the damage on most of the carriers and decreasing accuracy and a small amount of squadron health. That won't actually fix anything lol
