the flandre has very good aa to where you can take entire squads, but now with the update it can take down 4 planes down or 5.

With the lowered plane HP, ships with more guns outranging the standard 2km on things like the 20mm and 25mm guns seem to have an equalizer. More range = more guns on target longer = more damage. In theory, this makes Soviet and German AA more competitive in effective DPS. Stuff like the Soviet 37mm and 45mm guns. And quite notably, the 30mm and 55mm German guns. Those 55mm automatic guns get 5km range

Thats actually a very good idea if they made those 20mm have double the range then a lot of ships would have double AA damage and on some AA cruisers with defensive AA you could shoot down entire squadrons before they could attack

ZF-6 is a one of my fav destroyers/ships and like you said...very effective AA even though it has AA around 50. Very underrated ship...not to mention that it also has a MBR booster.

For the Italians at tire 8 the Verdi has a 76 AA. The German cruiser Schröder has a 91 AA and can be equipped with DFAA, but you'll lose your sonar for that. Pan-Europe Karl XIV Johan is a sleeper also with a BASE 95 AA. The main thing all these ship have in common is almost every player has them because they were all campaign ships and they are tire 8.

May 1945: USS (DD) Evans & Hadley are attacked by over 150 Kamikazes off the coast of Okinawa. All were shot down with only pieces of 6 A/C actually hitting the ships. What’s the point? Wanna balance the game? Screw the CV’s, Wargaming needs to add Proximity Fuzing to the AA suites. Then we’ll see what’s what. Bring it on you Fly Bags!

Rochester with its AA boost has no match. Even without the boost I don’t believe any cruiser beats it, including the campaign ship. On boost the planes are destroyed before they can drop anything. Not sure about Battleships, but I just bought Constellation with the 70% off coupon, so hopefully it’s AA is good.

PE Friedrich was blessed with borderline busted WW2 era AA at tier 5 for Germans, yet Mackensen got left behind.... Kinda tragic really. PE F got 70. Mackensen is 16

CVs were much better as they were. Sure the kids found playing and playing against them difficult, but that is no reason to dumb the game down. You might only have them in a match 15% of the time and it mixed it up enough to keep it interesting. This change and the increasingly smaller maps just make the game a boring bloodbath.
