@@zachpottinger1842 the one I found was called "In which Loid finds his favorite color" by Chimera_Desu (Chimers) on AO3. Very obvious title, but it's a really cute one-shot. I honestly recommend checking it out. I also really recommend "person of interest" by suchmadness. It's a 7 chapter fic about Loid and Yor being soulmates who can write on themselves and it appears on the other's body. Probably my favorite soulmate fanfic out there (I don't read them a ton, but this and the first one were really sweet).

its interesting to think how the soulmate aspect would affect them. its not like reading minds at least so their secerts are probably still intact. it does work in their favor as soulmates getting together is prbably a good shortcut for why they'd be married. the aspect with loid being a widow with anya being his 'child since forever' would imply he had fallen in love or at least married and had a kid with smeone not his soulmate. WE know thats just a cover as he wasnt actually past married and anya is adopted..but it could give a interesting opening for what yor's thoughts might assume why loid was probably sad. maybe her thinking his dadness or complicated feelings come from losing anya's mother and such. though most likly the war messed with alot of things....its probably common to have a dead soulmate or assume you'd never see colors at times. yor is apart of the country that attacked his home country...but loid seems to have moved past tat roland stage....maybe he cried because as a spy is general he is suppoused to be unattached and able to move around. no doubt anya is a big factor for him but she is part of the mission so he can stll kid himself...but asoulmate is very mch suppoused to be a attachment...a home...someone important. maybe it reminded him of his family? memories or learning about soulmates..probably thoughts on howhe might die beforemeeting his. or howhe killed so many people who would never get the chance to go home or see color..so maybe he thiks hedoesnt deserve a soumate? maybe there is a sense of understanding and comfort he felt after so long from the connection that part of him doesnt want to lose even if the soy part of him might be destressed about? maybe he had just..resigned himself to never see color just to be shocked at meeting her? but she also saidwhy it wassad for 'us'....which implies loid wasnt the only one with sad or mixed feelingsduring whats suppoused to bea happy moment. yor for a long time had lived to raise her brother..often putting his needs over her own even when he just wanted her to be okay. she was in the line of work of killing people ..even if she is under the impression they ar ebad people that need to be pruned.....she mainy killed to put food on the table...were she also tries to think practically for her job and blood stains. she stuggles at social stuff at times. and she doesnt really seem to rely on her brother even hough he wants to help her to. and she doesnt really have friends, or lovers and also lost her parenst at a young age. she probably didnt have time to think about romance or soulmates..and she also was in a line fo work wher she killed and could die at anytimeand had to make peace with that. and she also worries and doesnt want her brotehr to know about her job becuase he might worry or be disapointed in her. yor often thinks she can be a botehr or that she might mess up at times...so I cant help but wonder if she worries that she might mess up with her soulmate....if she has shock having a connection with someone who isnt yuri when she has been on her own only having to be the respnsible one on her own. a soulmate is hypoethtically someone wo is always there for you and who can understand you to some degree...which probably is releaving....but is probably also worrysome when she isnt used to doing that. ibet she probably wonders if she deserves a soulmate due to everyone she has killed...and she thinks very highly of loid and anya. we canaslo assume that soulmate or not therei main motive is still for covers for why they got together..and of course even if they feel eachotehrs emotions to some degree...its not like thay hav econtext..and feeling smore than your own emotiosn probably is difficult to look into at times. though then of course there is the color aspect as well..color is beautiful..maybe they were both just overwhelmed? is there a sense of overload from the colors? despite how colors are good. are there colors there forever or would they go away if teh soulmate dies i wonder? definitly curioysu how yor thinks of red in her job as a assain after this. it does make loids outfit cordinations kindof funny in a kindof enthusastc about colors way. it doesnt seem like thye've discussed it that muc. its also interesting becuae unlike a kid stranger...there probably is a sense of 'this is MY soulmate' that echos in the dyncmic and little unlike how in canon they are strangers that bond over a convience and benfit from trying to get along..but there is the idea they could hypothetically back out or shouldnt expect things like romance or anything...i wonder if teh soulmate aspect makes it more complicated. its also kindof interesting becuse they are soulmate sbut probably still need t hide some major aspects like therei secert jobs from eachother and certain context... I like anya kindof sparking yor to maybe bring it up to loid ifinally..after some nice supportive no pressur e loid comfort XD I wonder if yor will wonder what loid has told anya about soulmates... loid's face though about anya meeting her soulmate XD but it iskindfof funny since its damien XD that could help the mission sinc emaybe it could increase meeting with the parents...but is also something at bit risky becuase being soulmates doesnt remove choice...and there probably could still be some issues when it comes to damien's family and how loid kindof is oblivgates as a spy to try to deal with that...though as far as loid knows friendship is stil a work in progress with anya. though now I wonder...does it happen only when you first meet(something implied by yor and loid) or does it take a bit to sometimes activate even if youve known that person for a while...like maybe you cna only atcivate color soulmate mode once you've matured enough to match your soulmate enough...since people can grow and change
