For $99, the Pulse 3D are a superb set of wireless headphones with full support for 3D audio (all will support PS 3D audio when wired to controller, not so many do the same wirelessly). The one drawback, lack of punch, was addressed with the software update adding the EQ, and that really opened them up. FWIW: Despite demonstrating the mic performance as a negative in comparison to your standard headset, I actially thought the Pulse sounded better.

The mic on the Pulse 3D seems to work better in small rooms. I've noticed that on different test videos the sound quality was vastly different and wondered why, but then I noticed that most of the ones where the sound was good were recorded in small game rooms with a lot of clutter/stuff on the walls, furniture and so on. The mic/s really pick up tons of reverberation and general background noize from the room. The accustics of the room seem to be what is giving the tincan effect in some videos. It's a bit odd as I though it had a noise cancelling mic.

I just picked up the newer camo colorway to match my controller. Dope as hell, really dig the sound. Glad I checked this video though, I didn't know that you could adjust the EQ prior to this. Playing Dead Space really sounds better with these than my 9.1 surround sound system.

PS5 Headset! I bought mine a couple of months after the console, and still use it almost daily. The quality is holding up well, and the cups haven't started cracking yet. With the EQ software addition, it's really an amazing and worthwhile set. Nice video, the black does look amazing aswell, especially seeing the video you made about the Black and Red Console Covers

The only downside with this headset is it gets kinda uncomfortable after about a few hours because of pressure especially for those who wear glasses and second, no boom mic in which Sony should think about implementing if they ever decide to create a new headset

I own these and they are pretty good, I agree with most of the comments but would like to add one of my own, for gamers over 50 yrs the small buttons and writing are too small, I normally play with lights down low so can’t see these buttons well at all thank goodness the adjustment is shown on the screen(I used these on the PS4 for a while,which meant switching lights on and grabbing reading glasses to adjust)

Maybe because when you use the transmitter on the back USB ports, the PS5 is exhausting all of its hot air right onto the transmitter, causing it to overheat. That guys knows what he is talking about. Get a USB extension cable if you want to use the transmitter on the back USB ports.

PS5 Headsets - Have been running the Pulse 3D for about 2 weeks with mixed results. Initially there was a big echo that I, as well as other party members, could hear constantly. It seemed to work for a bit, but now it's a 50/50 as to whether or not I'll be able to hear the other party members clearly or if there will be a lot of dub stepping (possibly ISP related). I do really enjoy the wireless feature though, and can't for the life of me understand why Sony don't build the Bluetooth adapter into the unit... I mean a dongle? In 2022?

This should be called something else. The real OG pulse vibrate. They even had a slider on the side of the earcups to adjust strength of vibration from explosions etc. To this day they still work and I use them on the PS3 with the PS3 3D TV and the 3D glasses still work. Great video

Sounds to me like the 7P’s have some kind of low cut / high frequency boost EQ built into the mic. Human voice sits in these higher frequency registers which could help with speech clarity especially with high whiny voices. The pulse mic sounds to be more full range as far as the frequency’s it is picking up. The full range mic should be more accurate for all voice types, Where the 7P’s may be better for those with high voices. Some mics have baked in EQ for certain voice types. Both sounded fine to me.

My concern with these is the mic sound. Multiple games I've been in, the other players say they can barely hear me. With there not being an extended mic that goes in front of your mouth, this has been an issue so far using these. I mainly got them for multiplayer/chat and that's been it's biggest struggle so far. One thing that wasn’t talked much about was how incredibly uncomfortable these headphones are after 30 min I felt like my ears were on fire I should have returned them but thought they would loosen up after a while, nope after a year still uncomfortable. I even bought a after market set of ear ups and that didn’t help much , they are just way to tight. The sound quality was great but I’m no expert in that field.

The faux leather on the ear cushions have started breaking off already. This is incredibly annoying as getting a replacement ear pad is hit or miss (especially in my country) - I've used my headphones sparingly, yet this happened. However, these are incredible headphones otherwise and perfect for ps5

This headset sounds great but could sound better. I found the ear muffs to be very uncomfortable for any timeframe exceeding 2 hours and just wasnt a fan of the feel overall. If you have a bigger head i would avoid buying them. I returned mine within the warenty period and went with the steel series pro + gamedac. Waiting on Astro to release A50s for the PS5

I'd say they are on par with the A20s, but the 7Ps are still better sound.

Your reviews are great not sure if to get this headset or the Steel Series Arctic’s 7P+ not to bothered about the Mic on either and I don’t have a PC Or Laptop to adjust the settings on them but I like the idea you can now adjust the equaliser on these direct from the PS5

It’s worth noting for aesthetics that you can plug the dongle into the back of the PS5 instead and they still work perfectly

Been watching a lot of your videos lately but this is the first to come out while I've been subscribed! I found these headphones quite uncomfortable on my ears when I first got them last year, but its not something I notice so much these days. Maybe I've just got used to it or they've warped a little to fit me better

I really don't like the pulse 3D but have friends that do. I'm back with my Sony Gold headphones 🎧, that are still going strong after 7 year ( bar a couple of ear cup changes ) still can't find a headset that beats whese for comfort on a 53 years old head. Top video as always 👌
