I lucked out. Went to the store and they had the same size and brand of TV's with the exact same programming simultaneously on both. One was QNED and the other was OLED. I viewed them for 30 or 45 minutes with different programming (still, action, etc.) Basically, I could tell no difference between the two. I went with the QNED due to price. @TorqueFormulaWon Жыл бұрын
If you do go oled you can use grey or semi transparent subtitles which should help mitigate burn in, and also could get a TV with heat sink to further reduce chances. Depending on whether you have a dark room oled can be good 55-77 size as they have higher brightness than 42, 48 and 83 inch in LG's case. However G2 is wall mount only FYI. If a bright room mini led or qled with good dimming zones. Oled screens on LG can be glossy so reflect light on bright rooms, some Sony TV oled like A90j is semi matte I believe (may be wrong) so has some anti reflection. I don't know as much about mini led but have seen good reviews for TCL 8 series, Sony x95k (pricey), Samsung qn90b, hisense u8h (US model)°

I guess It is a personal preference to choose between this panels and different technology.. But for me, OLED - no more. Once burn in, never more. Doesn't matter if they improve their panels I always have that fear of burn in. Also, with qned, qled or mini led in your living room, people always ask what tv is that.. Because of that brightness. I went for the 2021 QNED91 Mini-LED recently. I got it for significantly cheaper than any OLED of its size (65"), and in my bright living room with multiple windows, the extra brightness has been awesome! To overcome those reflections I would have needed at least a evo panel OLED which would have been at least double. What's the difference between the qned 82 model an your 91?
@White_5tar2 жыл бұрын
Massive difference, the QNED81/82 is not Mini-LED, which this is, and the QNED91 are. The 2022 4k Mini-LED that has been released by LG so far is the QNED86, which I believe is the one used in this video. This (QNED86) has fewer dimming zones than the QNED91 and it is not full array dimming, instead using a software algorithm, I assume. The QNED86 was released as a more affordable, entry-level Mini-LED. The QNED91 is superior to both and probably the best value you can get right now - if you can find it, especially since you can find it discounted as it''s a 2021 model.

Yep that's the same one that I have. QNED90 is the QNED91 in UK and Europe. 91 has central crescent stand. Got mine for about £950 a month or so ago. I've had no issues with mine. You can't expect completely perfect black levels, but it's so damn close to OLED at such a lower price. Need to turn local dimming to high and I've even lowered brightness for most modes as it's too much, especially at night. Brilliant for streaming with built in apps. I have fire stick but more or less stopped using it. Also works really well with my PS5 including 120hz mode with VRR etc. Some people said local dimming doesn't work with gaming mode but mine works fine. They must have updated firmware at some point.

So people that worry about burn in on OLEDs it not as bad even on my old model it has gotten better now on new ones and you can easily avoid it by not playing the same image all day every day news channels are the worse for it with all the gaming i do it not as bad as i thought it was as i been worried by burn in when i got it but easy to get around and not a problem. I got an OLED (LG C1) because I kept hearing that it's one of the best looking TVs you can buy in the 1500 dollar range. Plus it's not too bright. (I personally dislike bright TVs because they hurt my eyes) My current TV at the time was starting to die. ( some of the zones are not as bright as the others) The OLED looks amazing. It's the best TV I've had the chance to lay my eyes on. I then made the mistake of listening to calibrators and calibrated my HDMI 1 output for the PS5. However this made the output too bright and unusable. Then I encountered image retention for watching shows that had black bars. It happened again when I played a retro game. (on the PS2) While OLED looks *amazing* This is probably my last OLED since the chance of burn in kills my desire to use my Main TV. PS. Yes, I got a warranty that covered burn in, but that was so I can use the TV like all my other TVs. (If I have to baby it, then it's not fit for purpose.) However this TV doesn't seem to be able to handle my use case. ( around four hours a day gaming or watching shows that may have black bars) Mini LED may be the default for me... I just don't like its blinding brightness.

Funny story: I bought an LG C1, but heard about the QLED Mini LEDs not long after. Gave my C1 to my brother, introducing him to OLED: Got myself the QN90A in Europe, which was an IPS panel. It had the shittiest local dimming and backlight bleeding and a yellow tint I have seen in my entire life. Anything with slight letterboxes were a no go. The reflection handling was subpar in comparison to the OLED, it was worse then a mirror. The Brightness was maybe 10 % above the OLED, nothing noticable or helpful. The uniformity, god... Returned the QN90A, got myself another C1, been happy ever after.
@SonOfPatriots2 жыл бұрын
Maybe 10% brighter? Wow. Where's your sources on that? They are way brighter. C1 Has great detailing but unbelievably a dark TV even with the brightness turned all the way up which LG says not to do because it jeopardizes the life of the TV. My C1 had bad burn in 10 months after purchase and LG replaced it, now I am 13 months into my second one had starting to get some burn in again. Research C1 properly and you will see the major flaw in LG OLED. I ignored this when I got it on sale and it was a big regret.

I have this horrible dilemma of owning a c7 for the last 5 years or so. That one was a 65". We've since moved that from the basement to the bedroom and my TV upgrade journey began. Started out with a 65-in OLED C2. Then I thought to myself it's not that much better than the B2 and I could pretty much get a B2 in 77" So I returned and went with the B2 77". I immediately noticed the difference and it was much stronger than in the store. I couldn't stand it so I finally splurged the extra money and just got the C2 in 77 in. Call me crazy but this thing doesn't really seem that much brighter than the c7.

I chose QLED as a hybrid TV/monitor to avoid burn-in, more brightness (without ABL), reduced reflections and I heard 30fps can look more stuttery on OLED. I've been similarly underwhelmed with my OLED (LG C1). I don't dislike the TV, not at all, but I was expecting stuff - games, mainly - to look almost hyper-real and just 'pop' off the screen and, well, they just don't. Which is not to say they don't look great because they do but I haven't felt 'wowed' by anything and that's a bit of a letdown after all the hype. And regarding the brightness, yeah, Freeview can look pretty drab. So, in summary, I wouldn't say I'm unhappy with my purchase - just not blown away like I expected to be. I don't understand the comments about not going back to LED after OLED because I'd go back to a (top of the line) LED, for sure. I don't care about having an 'accurate' or 'natural' picture; I like the punch, pop and vibrancy of LED. Oh, and yes, I have followed settings guides and tweaked my inputs on the C1, to get the picture as pleasing to my eyes as I can make it.

In no way is the mini led inferior, in fact not in the slightest - it's more consistent if anything. Reason? Dolby vision. Again, hype all over.

I think the ceiling is higher on the oled. I think the reason I'm not often amazed by the C2 is genuinely because of the size I have it, so its probably not entirely fair.
