In 2019 I wanted to start working towards filling out my Gamecube collection and even attempting to complete it over the next few years. The Gamecube selection on GameStop's website is actually priced well so I figured I would order Gamecube games from them and see how it turns out.

The Gamecube is CLOSE to being the best system Nintendo ever made. It was ahead of its time, and incredibly forward thinking. It was the most powerful console of its generation (only being limited by its small disks which limited things like textures). The ONLY system that can rival it and possibly be considered better is the Switch, and only because it's portable.

You know why they gave you the nice stuff with the cases? They looked at your past videos, checked their recent orders and found yours, and tagged your account with a comment saying to send the best quality options to you. This makes GameStop look better, then when us viewers order stuff and just get loose discs the excuse is it was the “only stock on hand”. I’d bet money that they went out of their way to send you cases.

Let me tell you why none of them have manuals, i bought all of my GameCube collection from GameStop years ago, and many times it would not come with a manual... so the next time I would go into GameStop I would look for other games to purchase and if I see one I already had on the shelf, I would open the case and check for a manual. If there was one in there, I’d take it. And I bet GameStop employees did this too.

no they dont care about their Publicity at all If they did, they would have send the manuals aswell, as they do have a bunch. (or printed them.. they sometimes reprint them and include them) Depending on your Location you get good lots or not.. they just grab them from the most local store and send them over (and use the storage if its not in stock)

Master Quest isn't a new dungeon, it's a complete re-work of EVERY single dungeon (even the mini-dungeons) to make them more reliant on puzzle mechanics and overall more challenging. The 3DS version has you taking double damage from attacks as well, but the GCN release doesn't feature this. If you like OoT, I highly recommend MQ, it's a breath of fresh air playing through such a classic game through a new scope of sorts. The dungeons are the same, but also completely different, you won't be really able to rely too much on your memory and nostalgia to guide you through.. some of them actually require thought. It's a nice change of pace over the usually very easy and welcoming Zelda pacing. The overworld and everything outside of the Dungeons is the same, though, except for the game being mirrored (I think?).

I was looking thru all the gamestop retro games. Nostalgia hit me, and my childhood past. I miss simplier times when you would go to school and get everything done quick as you could to start playing games when you got home. Now we have an over-abundance of games and they dont seem to have the same impactfulness when you buy digital games compared to the old disks and cartridges. Then again, I used to think technology of games were basically magical when I was a kid, and now they seem so much more basic. I've been watching a lot of youtubers collecting old games, and even started getting some of my favorites back. It's pretty fun, as long as you dont mind spending some money on old games.

I only got into GC this year but I've got a 'Mega Replay' (used games/movies) like 5 min away so I went EVERY day since April to be sure I got the good pickups when people would sell their good stuff.... That store is so awesome that I could afford to wait for MINT complete copies of all 19 GC games Ive picked up so far - 4 of which are mint CIB zelda GC games (all but the twilight princess one) just yesterday!!! They have a buy 5 get the 6th free, AND 20% off entire purchase for every 10 visits to the store (you just log in on a tablet at the counter....no purchase needed to build up to 10). I. Love. Mega. mark shaw hates that game. I thought it was going to be a Pearl Harbor game and instead I got maybe a level or two and the rest was another in the jungle WW2 game. I was pretty disappointed with the game. Haven’t played it since the year it got released though, so maybe it has aged better

That Zelda bonus disc has 2 versions of Ocarina of Time. First is normal and the second is Master Quest where all the dungeons including Ice Cave (maybe other little ones as well, I can't remember anymore) are completely re-arranged. World map is same though.

If you want a good Spyro game, ONLY PLAY Enter the Dragonfly if you want a rage game.... I personally don’t mind it as much as most people do... A Hero’s Tail is LEAPS AND BOUNDS BETTER (also on game cube) Edit: the Insomniac games are the best, but the Legend trilogy is good too The Insomniac games were remastered into the Reignited Trilogy Edit 2: I played the first Spyro game until the end of the disk’s life, then framed it

Hey, pro tip with getting the stickers off cleanly, use a damp cloth to moisten the stickers before you peel, anything that's left behind can be scraped up easily with something not so harsh like fingernails, or whatever you use without leaving damage or any stickiness behind.

I was on a Facebook group a couple years back when some kid was talking about how Gamestop was going to "preserve" games. I told him how I remembered when they destroyed the manuals and cases of practically all of their Dreamcast stock just to save a tiny amount of space in 2004. Now ex-managers have come forward and talked about how the retro trade in program resulted in a ton of rare games being thrown away without ever being tested and yes the vast majority of good stock that comes in is sold on ebay through a 3rd party ebay seller that used to be called "Green Gadgets". Probably your best bet for retro stuff on ebay is more recent stuff like Gamecube. There is absolutely no good reason they got rid of all the manuals. Gamestop is just terrible at "Games Preservation".

People always complain about not getting manuals from retro games they get. This scared me when I went to worlds game store to get twilight princess for the GameCube. It came with the game, a memory card, the manual, the health and safety manual, and a subscription to Nintendo power magazine all in almost mint condition.

Top Layer damage only affects CD based games such as ps1, Saturn etc. DVD based games have their data sandwhiched in between two Layers, unlike CDs where the data Layer is literally on top of the upside.

As much as I'd like to, I can't really blame Gamestop for not including manuals. They're usually the first thing to get lost with older games, and if something is traded in without the manual, there's not much Gamestop can do about it. I'm trying to build up my Dreamcast collection and it's infuriating how many games I'll find without the manuals. It's not so bad with Gamecube/PS2/Xbox games, since the manual is separate from the box art, but in games with jewel cases like the Dreamcast and PSone, the manual _is_ the box art. It's funny you got Soul Calibur 2 though, because my most recent Dreamcast find was the first Soul Calibur.

If you want to get stickers off of cases easily and cleanly, invest in a rubiks cube sticker tool. They're used by speed-solvers to swap out the stickers on their cubes. Linus did a video on warranty sticker removal if you wanna see it working.

I bought Star Fox 64 and Star Fox Assult together, and later I bought Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door a few days later. 64 is in perfect condition. Star Fox Assault became unavailable _after_ I ordered it. I contacted them, asked what was up, it still hasn't processed shipping and I got Paper Mario before I've even seen a response. Also, Paper Mario had many scratched hidden behind buffing practices, and some weird white corrosion from their buffing machine. Oh, and it doesn't even work. What was their policy again, that they test every disc? My sister works there, and she gets screwed over by online purchases all the time too.

The sleeves are probably to keep the discs from falling loose in shipping and getting scratched up in shipping. Like if they were stored in the cases like they would normally be.
