Hey guys! Welcome to the FINAL SEASON for the "Main Series" of My Retro Life. There are around 12 full length episodes I have planned for this season. These are different from the "Story Time" episodes I produce in front of my camera, telling you a story that doesn't have a ton of Dad's footage. I thought we'd kick things off with this Resident Evil Gamecube episode, seeing as how the brand new RE 4 remake drops this week! Thank you for for your amazing support over the years. You have no idea how much it means to my family to read your comments. Don't worry, after the "Main Series" ends, there are still tons of stories to tell and videos to produce. Also - BIG NEWS ahead. Stay tuned!

Seeing you relaxed on the couch playing a horror game takes me back, in a strange way. Where you didn't have any responsibilities, worries, and all you had in front of you was your game. No smart phones or distractions.

I enjoyed that. Took me back to those amazing years. I’m from the UK and I remember going to Japan in 2001 and went to Tokyo Gameshow. I remember seeing the trailer on a Capcom screen for this game. The graphics looked amazing and my jaw nearly hit the floor. It still looks great today. Thanks for these vids. They capture that perfect time when the world was a pretty cool place.

I have a similar dad. He has his flaws. But my favourite memories was playing games with him. Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask. He would print out the biggest walkthough on paper. We would take turns reading and playing. But we only use the walkthough on the second playthrough. It's pretty much the only time we bonded, and saw him laugh.

I remember playing RE1R on gamecube in 8th grade back in 2008. I was 14 at the time and my first RE as well as M rated game was RE4 and I knew RE1R would be amazing. I was right and got scared lol. Following year or two after that I got the DS version (still have it) and beat that. Back when the remaster for the remake came out I beat that for the first time and was amazed with how good the game was and still is. IMO it still holds up today.

I remember getting this game clearly. My PS2 fat died on me and I was pretty sad about it. However at the same time it justified me going out and buying a Cube. I decided to get one after school on a Friday and then just rent a game from blockbuster video. Maybe after a week or two of having it I saved enough to get RE Remake. It was actually one of the deciding factors as to why I was going to purchase a GameCube. I hopped on the L train very excited and arrived at my Gamestop. I picked up REmake and they even gave me a free strategy guide. One I still own til this day. I also picked up another game: Luigi's Mansion. I found it kind of funny that my first two games I got on the Cube were games that revolved around exploring a mansion lol.

When I first heard about this Nintendo Dolphin, it was from the Gamefaqs Website thinking "Nintendo Dolphin? What's that?" Originally the Resident Evil Remake was gonna be Fully 3D, but the Gamecube couldn't handle the Graphics that were used for the environment, so just like the original, the Remakers had to use the old Pre-Rendered Backgrounds technique. I wouldn't be able to get a Gamecube until 2004.
