Monastery Scimitar is the curved sword with the funky better parry window than all of the others, it is a FANTASTIC parry weapon. It was nerfed heavily but it's still really good even now, but in the old days it had an insane 17 frame parry window.

in the old days the M.Scimitar parry animation was ~90% parry frames. Then it got reduced to be more in line with the rest of the scimitar parries. It was super fun seeing people just spam the parry to try to parry my whip (Which cannot be parried).

my favorite thing about 2 is a spellsword (gish) type of character is probably the most viable and unique. You have stuff like the blue flame for instance, which is an outright good sword, and can be powerstanced with stuff like the moonlight, or used outside of powerstance to give you a faster light attack.

nah nah I'mma fight on this at 17:21 The difference is in DS3, because is a 30% bonus, you don't need it. At all. I went through the game only like 5% of the time embered, because you have enough health to take few hits usually But when I tried going through DS2, I ran out of human effigies at a boss and was stuck at half health. AKA, in 1 hit range. And because I have to focus leveling ADP, can't focus on VIT for more health. So you are forced into the position of "No hit or fuck off" The funny thing is if you pay attention to his health bar, there's some times if he was a bit more hollow he'd be dead from full. Like the literal next scene.

now im not going to "skill issue" you because that's annoying, but i will say one thing in ds2, the health loss per death is 5% up to 50% max, meaning from human form you'd need to die 6 times to reach the equivalent health loss of losing ember in ds3, and if one were to assume someone used an effigy at the 30% threshold with a stock of maybe 6 effigies, they'd have to die 36 times to the same boss repeatedly to exhaust their effigy count, or worse, 60 times if they only used them at the max 50% reduction pair that with the fact ds2 has the highest player health values of all souls games period, and honestly, there may be bigger problems than health reduction if an early game boss is enough to strap you for resources THAT hard lol

​@@SpazmaticBanana Oh, I'm not saying I used all the effigies on one boss, it's that I ran out on a boss. Think I had just a few, giving me about 16-20 deaths leeway. Probably lost a lot in getting greedy trying to grind some levels at various points, namely trying to grind off the old knights. My memory may be taken with a grain of salt, as this would have be years now, I simply remember having to abandon the character and try again with less fuck ups. I think I was also stubborn not to look much up that first run

13:50 it does do thrust damage. You were just landing R1s during counter frames so they got a 40% damage boost because rapier has 140 counter. Katanas have 150 counter and lances pack 160. That's why those 3 weapon types are impossible to trade with in pvp Also at 25:19 who's gonna tell him that you don't have to close the menu every time you drop a stone. And using the stone heals you a bit. DS2 has a lack of healing items
