How do you put Arr in the same sentence as the rarest kind like Maestro Ilayaraja?! IR composed 500+ movies even BEFORE Arr made his debut!! Arr is yet to complete 250 films in his career. ALL of IR's compositions (Every single bar) is his own, whereas Arr's so-called "compositions" are a result of jamming, collab, teamwork, creative inputs from his singers/musicians, ghost composers etc. Arr has either only a vague idea or nothing at all when the singer/musician arrives at his studio. IR has a clear-cut idea of a song or a piece of music and is ready with that song/music 100% in its entirety even before the singers/musicians arrive to sing/play.

@@vivekvilla You are stuck in "nostalgia". Maestro Ilayaraja went ABOVE and BEYOND what his giant predecessors did. Many of IR's tunes are even more soulful than what MSV could tune. IR's orchestration is the BEST in the country. His repertoire extends beyond that of mere "film songs" into elaborate meaningful Background Scores and then even breaking the "film musician" barrier into private albums like How to Name it, Nothing but Wind, Thiruvaasagam in Oratorio Symphony, FIRST ASIAN to compose a complete Symphony in 1993; documentaries, Tele-serials, events etc. MSV fans like you are usually jealous even whenever IR is duly praised.
