TORNADO EMERGENCY AT 27:26
This is a day I will never, ever forget. The day my life changed forever.
On March 31st, 2023, the storm prediction center issued a high risk of severe weather with the emphasis of significant tornadoes possible in the mid-south and much of the Midwest. Around 2:30 PM CDT, a significant tornado struck the city of Little Rock, where I live. The tornado caused widespread damage in much of the metro, and struck literally down the street from my house. I still can't believe how lucky I was to have gotten away with no damage.
That being said, I'm much more focused on getting my life back together after this event. EAS catching will not be a priority by any means as I have significantly more important things to focus on instead. Hope you all enjoy the video, and I'll see you soon.
Take care.
~ Ethan

I was in 8th grade, my mom mentioned that there would be bad weather the night before. On that day, I was checked out of school an hour before it cane into north Little Rock, where I live. We went to scoop dog to kill time before we checked out my sister from the elementary campus. As soon as we pulled out of the parking lot, the sirens went off, we made it home 9 mins before the tornado hit the neighborhood. When we got home, we quickly put all of our valuables into the safe, then ran back out so I could back the car to the edge of the driveway so the basketball goal wouldn't hit it if it fell. Once we made it to the bathroom, the power went out. we heard it, and you'd think it sounded like a train. it didn't, it sounded more like a horde of motorbikes racing. It missed our house by 3 streets, missed all 3 schools by a street or less. missed where my sister was by 5 houses. we are lucky

I decided to rewrite your story in 3rd person using ChatGPT. In the bustling city of North Little Rock, Owen, an eighth-grader, found himself unexpectedly pulled out of school due to the looming threat of bad weather. His mother had forewarned him the night before, and as they drove away from the school, Owen couldn't shake off the feeling of impending danger. "We should grab something to eat while we wait for your sister," Owen's mom suggested as they left the school premises. "Sure, Scoop Dog?" Owen replied eagerly. "Yeah, why not," his mom agreed. As they indulged in ice cream to kill time, ominous clouds started to gather outside. Just as they were leaving Scoop Dog, the blaring sirens filled the air, signaling the imminent danger. "Mom, we need to get home, now!" Owen's heart raced with anxiety as they hurriedly made their way back. They managed to reach home a mere nine minutes before the tornado was due to hit. With adrenaline pumping, they wasted no time. They gathered their valuables and stowed them away in the safe, then dashed back out to ensure the car was safely positioned at the edge of the driveway. As they huddled in the bathroom, the power suddenly cut out, plunging them into darkness. Owen's heart pounded as they listened to the terrifying roar outside. It wasn't like the cliche of a train; it was more like a swarm of motorbikes racing. "It's so loud," Owen muttered, trying to steady his trembling voice. "Yeah, just stay low, we'll be fine," his mom reassured him. The tornado narrowly missed their house, tearing through the neighborhood with devastating force. Owen felt a mixture of relief and disbelief as they emerged from their hiding spot to find their home miraculously unscathed. "We got so lucky," Owen breathed, his voice tinged with disbelief. "Yeah, we did," his mom agreed, her eyes reflecting the magnitude of what they had narrowly escaped. Their relief was tempered by the awareness of the destruction just streets away. The tornado had spared their lives and their home, but the community would need to come together to rebuild what had been lost.

I was informed multiple times by my weather service I use about a bad storm coming April 2nd. Of course they didn’t cancel school. However, they let us out early. We get out at 2:50 PM. however this day, we got out 1pm. My hometown that day ended up with a PDS tornado warning (meaning tornado on the ground) a street in front of my neighborhood. We got lucky.

A PDS Tornado Warning does not mean a tornado is on the ground. Well, it does, but PDS stands for Particularly Dangerous Situation. Which means that your hometown was under a Tornado Warning (Particularly Dangerous Situation or PDS)

I remember this tornado in Wisconsin. My mom and I were at the hospital when we got an EAS alert for a severe thunderstorm warning. When we were driving home, we got a tornado warning and I tried to hide under a part of the car, and when we got home, me, mom, dad, and my sister hid in the basement until the tornado was over. It was so scary, and even worse, it happened at night.

man i was in my room that time listening to music cause i had a phobia fearing lightning and thunder. When i checked the weather i notice it was a tornado watch which wasnt a good sign. so i checked the weather constant so i wouldnt go offguard. until 12 am i noticed the storm in Pennsylvania had passed and i knew i could take my headphones off. luckily the tornado never happened. if it happened, i would never be making this comment today.

I remember one night that my mom told me there’s gonna be some bad weather and I didn’t think anything of it bc yk where I live there’s never tornadoes that actually hit my house. So I just went to sleep, when I woke up the next morning there was thunder and lighting that sounded like the world was ending- I just did my normal stuff bc I just thought it was a thunderstorm 🌩️. Until I went to check the weather and there was a tornado watch that said there’s a 3-5 percent chance which is likely on the radar. I was scared at that point sk I stayed in the living room away from all the windows bc there was at least 80 mph wind. I was looking out back bc now it looked really bad then I saw my trampoline go flying into the neighbors backyard. Probably about 5 minutes later the tornado alert or sirens went off. We didn’t really have anywhere to go so we left and drive away from the storm, maybe like an hours later we were good, but we were in a whole different part of where I live. So we stopped by a place to get donuts and went home because the radar said it was good. 6:00❗️ok, so at around 6-7 we saw the weather was gonna be horrible again but this time it would be dark. So we decided to go to a shelter maybe like 30 mins away at this point the chance of a tornado was 7-10. We went to the shelter for an hour and left. The drive home was so scary we didn’t see any tornado that day but still it’s good to be safe. There was a lot of damage and there was a tornado but no clue where ik there was because at the shelter the ppl said Theres a tornado on the ground. But when we got home the power was out. Right now I’m in the car driving to another state because that day was like 3 days before we move aka yesterday. ( yall I said I’m moving in 3 days but since are powers out, my dad is staying and we are going to Ohio.. that’s where my fam lives and we are gonna stay there for a week so my mom can take her test IT WILL DEFINE IF SHE CAN GET HER TEACHING DEGREE anyways, so after she takes her test tomorrow she’s gonna go back to are hiuse and help my dad with a few touch ups and load the U-Haul and then like the day after tomorrow they gonna come to Ohio pick us up and drive to are new house in North Carolina 🤩🤩.. now my fingers hurt so yea!!❤

I was in Jacksonville Arkansas, which is close to Little Rock. But I remember that same day they let school out and I thought "thats weird, never happens". So I went home at 12 PM and took a 1 hour nap till 1 O'Clock PM. Then I woke up and I decided I was gonna look up the weather out of randomness, and hot springs was currently being hit(still getting stronger at this point), and I was like "oh no, it's coming directly our way through little rock.." So I let my mom, my sister know , and we kind of just looked out. And around probably an hour and a half later sirens were going off, and I was like "not good at all, time to track where this bad boy is at". I didn't even think it was a real tornado, boy was I wrong... It was real alright. And because it was so real, I went into shelter as it was impacting NLR/Sherwood. Before it entered Jacksonville, we received a call saying my grandparents house was damaged pretty bad, but thankfully not destroyed. By this point, I took it a bit more seriously, so I was like "Everyone, shelter. NOW" and we did but my step dad didn't even care so he just went to sleep and said "oh noo, welp, hope it takes me away 😂" so I was like " whatever, it takes you away that's your problem.. ". Once it was done, we had to wait a few more hours before driving on the road(Due to the really bad damage). Once we set out driving in the impacted areas, it looked like something you would see from Fallout 76. Hardly even recogniseable.. But I'm just glad it's been fixed up now and put back into the place it used to be. Scary time..

Why does Paul spells out Pope County instead of actually saying it
@The_EAS_Plug
@The_EAS_Plug Жыл бұрын
Main reason for that is because both Pope and Polk counties are in the boundaries of NWS Little Rock and aren’t that far apart from each other. They’re spelled out to prevent confusion between the two because they sound similar otherwise.
