Lyrics (reproduced from the composer's website soundcloud.com/liam-gersh-nobu-tse/eden): Let there be light. Let there be day and night; heaven and earth; sun and moon and stars. Let there be mountains, seas and land, summer, spring and fall. Let the earth teem with lives; let there roam creatures great and small. There I see lush greeneries and rolling rivers; Flowers adorned with regal splendour. Fowls and fawns don’t plough, sow or gather, For the earth produces and provides. And there roams a man alone in ever dignity. There he feeds upon the fruit from every tree of life. I see him toil and rest and play, and he preserves the land. And all is good. Now I see there stands the tree that brings mortality, and Here comes the crafty serpent to tempt: Just one small bite will set you free; one taste shall launch a whole new world. Invincible you shall become, more almighty than all. The world is yours; all belongs to you. All shall worship, flee from, honour, fear, suffer, bow unto you. I see all the earth trampled by Man, the ocean filled with blood, the land stained with gore. I see the earth scorched and bleak, filled with man’s iniquity-this is not the Eden that I used to see before. ‘Tis Elysium nevermore. But I see once more Eden descending from heaven above; There reigns He who atoned the world with truth and love. And I see the tree of life flourish, Man once more living in peace and love. No more tears I see. Amen.
