If you have already achieved level A2 in French, this method is definitely brilliant. For an absolute beginner however, it is absolutely impossible to go this path. And that is the crucial point of all popular methods. There is no known method including yours for a rocket launch if you are starting from absolutely zero. There are countless methods, excellent methods, no doubt about it, including your method if you are already "walking", but there is none for "language toddlers". If you find one, you are guaranteed a place in the language teaching Olympus. A real "gap" if you would ask me.

I will try this and see how it goes , I will also listen to 200 hours and learn 200 sentences and we will then see if it works I think a language like russian would be good

Developing the habit of journaling daily in the target language has been remarkably difficult for me.
@LanguageMatrixАй бұрын
I can totally understand that. Maybe it's just not ... fun. Imagine yourself as a speaker of your target language(s). Like really visualize ... you wake up one morning and you're fluent in XYZ language ... what would you do? Probably not write in a notebook all day. You'd probably do something more fun, right? Do that fun thing first (and you'll end up learning the language as an afterthought).

@LanguageMatrixАй бұрын

Nice demonstration,❤ but not sure if it will work for languages like Korean/japanese where the sentence structure is different. Can please show a demonstration of this as well ? Big thanks in advance 👍🏻 My main goal is to learn Korean, japanese, Turkish and Indonesian ❤ And also a separate video on how to tackle/ approach languages with different sentence formation by using Matrix method 👍🏻

Nice! I started this with Modern Eastern Armenian today. Can you try some polysynthetic languages and maybe also compare them? Georgian, Classical Nahuatl, West Greelandic and Chukchi all have interesting features and they are ergative languages. Or Dyirbal which has an interesting noun class system that's different to the one you learned in Swahili. Of course it depends on how well they are documented and how well ChatGPT knows them. How much time do you spend on this per language per day? Do you work on each new language every day until you are confident enough to add more languages and put others on maintenance mode?
@LanguageMatrixАй бұрын
Hi, very cool about the Modern Eastern Armenian ... Nahuatl is of high interest to me ... and I personally have no study routine, and nothing is numerical or quantifiable for me whatsoever (practice time per day, for example). I'm by no means saying that that' a good idea :) I just do whatever I'm curious about, and base languages I'm learning primarily about people I can talk to. As for adding new languages, my personal take is that every language you learn (even if it's just a little) makes you better and better at learning, so I have no prohibition about dabbling and exploring in any way.

Great video with some great tips! My only concern is that without further specifying what you want from ChatGPT you get fed the wrong information. I'm not fluent but have been studying French for around 6 years. In my experience it's very uncommon to use inversion for a question (prépares-tu, etc). This is reserved for very formal situations (like talking to a superior or something similar) or in literature/formal writing. Without specifying to ChatGPT that you want sentences or answers that are used in everyday speech you've been taught something that isn't really going to aid you because you'd almost never hear a question posed this way. Instead intonation at the end of a sentence is used to convey it's a question so Tu prépares le dîner? this is seen as casual/natural. Some people will add Est-ce que to convey it's a question so Est-ce que tu prépares le dîner? this is seen as neutral. So while your tips are great in order to actually put this into use you'd definitely need refinement on how you ask ChatGPT to spit out your answers. I hope this helps! Thanks so much for the video!

Write this technique down in your books! Mind-mapping is crucial for language learning, and allows you to use everything you learn as a template. If you write these things down, they will eventually get shifted from your consciousness to your subconsciousness and solidify. Le Francais n'est pas facile mais y faut persévérer! Ne vous inquietez pas trop des noms masculins ou feminins (un des concepts les plus difficiles au Francais), la plupart des bilingues du Canada font ce type d'erreur tout l'temps!

I know you are making these various videos in different languages to illustrate how the method works across the board. However, is there any chance you could make one in Russian? I'm currently trying to learn it. My girlfriend is Ukrainian and speaks Russian as a native. I have made some progress. The alphabet is a little less scary. I can comprehend most of it now. I'm still not totally there with it. Mostly, it's the grammar and tenses. A word can change in multiple ways depending on the situation. I have been reviewing your videos and just yesterday became a paid-up member of the site. I will deep dive the content over the coming week.

What is the best AI app where you can type or talk to the bot that then talks back, can ask questions or answer questions, that can be asked to generate a conversation and will respond nicely and correct my terrible French and passable Spanish?
