So true about the spatial thinking with verbs ... I use the past, present, future in a timeline all the time ... like it is floating in space for me to grab onto. I also use space (in the images my mind can make) to put all verbs from each person speaking into a circle around me, because I don't speak to people looking down at a piece of paper ... I am looking at them, or talking ABOUT them to someone. For example, in a circle, I am at the bottom .... YOU are directly in front of ME ... WE is next to I at the bottom ... YOU ALL are directly across from US. HE/SHE/IT is to the left of me in the circle but in the middle left .... THEY ARE is directly across from HE/SHE/ IT. I use this method which works for me better than a chart as presented in books. Here is an example with Italian: tu sei (you are) voi siete (ya'll are) lui/lei è (he/she is) ESSERE loro sono (they are) io sono (I am) noi siamo
