Thank you, that's very kind :) If you don't mind, will you please tell me which element exactly do you find helpful about my lessons? I'm literally just guessing and improving as I go along, but what I think is useful might not be accurate. Would appreciate your point of view. Thanks!

'Awek' is a colloquial usually to refer to a young girl not necessarily a couple. When you want to introduce your teman wanita/temanita (girlfriend) or teman lelaki (boyfriend) to your parents, you say "Ayah, ibu, ini teman saya, Cik Lisa". Kawan is too generic and your parents may not get the idea that the person is more than just friend; they may think he or she is just one of your other normal friends! There's nothing wrong with using kasih to express your love and affection; in fact, it's much more romantic, gentle and elegant. You can compliment your couple but do it modestly because it can get tiresome, like: "Cik Lisa sungguh menawan bila senyum!" or "Saya suka gaya rambut Cik Lisa" or "Wah, Cik Lisa nampak anggun sekali" or "Hati saya gemuruh bila lihat Cik Lisa sebab Cik Lisa jelita sungguh!". A warning though, in a romantic relationship you don't charge head-on but action is enough to convey your feeling of someone (take it one step at a time). If you really want to express your love to someone don't be so direct but just say: "Dah lama kita berkenalan dan hati saya pun dah terpaut pada Cik Lisa!" or "Dah lama kita berkenalan dan saya rasa makin kasihkan Cik Lisa!" and if the response is positive and you want to tie the knot you say: "Sudikah Cik Lisa menemani hidup saya?" or if you're bold enough "Boleh saya masuk meminang Cik Lisa?" 😳 Note: By the way, sopan means courteous/polite/well-mannered.

Kind-hearted - baik hati. Was this expression part of the song 'Bangun pagi, gosok gigi' you sang in one of previous episode?The last line of the song. Inmates of the former East block (USSR, Yugoslavia, Poland) prisons make very strong black tea as a legal drug. In Russian it is called 'chifir' and the process of its making and consumption is a real ceremony!
@sierralisse88976 жыл бұрын
The last line of the song is 'suka hati' which means happy (the literal translation is happy heart). You got the 'hati' part correct :D Great memory you have. Whoa, I didn't know strong tea could be a drug! I like my tea very mild and a bit sweet, so I usually use one teabag for an entire teapot. I'll look up chifir. Sounds interesting. Thanks for sharing :D

She teaches informal malay, so it will be a lot of different from informal indonesian. If you learn the standard malay and standard indonesian, 95% of them are same
