I love watching your videos as it helps learning Malay...and what makes it fascinating is the fact that it helps ms to know the right tenses and when to use them. Keep it up Cikgu Sierra Lisse.

I still struggle with this one from time to time, even after knowing the differences haha. But this video is quite in-depth, super helpful :) Need to watch it a few times and cement it into my brain. Thank you for these videos and knowledge.

I can honestly say that even local Malaysians sometime would struggle between Dari and Daripada :) No pun intended. With that knowledge, if you know how to use either of the words, it is perfectly acceptable and understandable in any day-to-day conversation. Sorry ye Cik Lisa, being a bad influence here :p And you are right, that Kamus is a behemoth of a dictionary. I am pretty sure it is used as foundation in some smaller homes. And yes I told my wife that Sarang = Nest in Malay LOL
@sierralisse88974 жыл бұрын
I definitely struggle with it and misuse them all the time. So no worries about bad influence because I already have bad habits haha! And the trolley is a life-saver. Sakit tangan nak pegang before this.

lol, That love sign, Sarang what Lisa showed means kind of "How much?" or "Where is the money?" here in Hungary.

What's the difference between hingga and sehingga?
@sierralisse88974 жыл бұрын
Hello, both are the same except that sehingga is used for nouns that are not exact or precise in nature. It's a very slight difference and most Malay people don't know the difference which is why we use them interchangeably. In place of hingga and sehingga, we tend to use 'sampai' more often.

@@sierralisse8897 terima kasih Lisa. I've been reading very basic buku cerita. They use formal malay most of the time. Any suggestion on how to use books to build up vocabulary?

@@sierralisse8897 Ohh okayyy. I'm asking cuz I'm scheduling my malay lessons! Hahaha. I started in Oct and reached lesson 30! The aids were useful for memorising the words like I was back in kindergarten school 😂 (in a good way). Also the outdoor vids made it more fun to learn, very interactive and I think almost tangible hahaha. This is by far the most helpful and wholesome playlist I have come across. Looking forward to more exciting lessons! Support from Sarawak 💪🏻 hahaha

@@sierralisse8897 Oops, sorry for the late reply. I used to be outright lazy with lots of bad habits. But I just need a bit of shock to see my own reflection in the mirror hahaha. It's hard to maintain a routine, I still break all of them, but I'm learning hahaha. U are welcome, the great vids helps get my butt off the couch hahaha.
