Well it helps to understand where he comes from. He calls George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Tom Petty, Kris Kristofferson, and Johnny Cash Father/ Friend/Uncle. His 1st album tour was with BB King. His first tour at 14 was with Bob and Willie. If you listen to Molly's Farm from 65 Newport Folk, how Bob plays sound just like Lukas. I hear Tom and Neil in his style most of the time but he pulled from all the Uncle hats. Not bad Uncles to have. And he's very humble about it.
