This noble-sounding little statement has been around for a couple of decades but was popularized by Oprah Winfrey at the 2018 Golden Globe Awards. She stated, “Speaking your truth is the most powerful tool we have.” In all fairness, she was talking about those women who dared to speak up about being sexually harassed; however, the quip rapidly became a modern mantra for those who say absolute truth doesn’t exist, but that all truth is individual and comes from within.

It is a bit silly, but it is only a brief moment. Maybe it is illustrating a point, though. Maybe the point is that these misguided ideas are a bit like a choice in a game. That's probably a bad way of putting it, really. I can't really think of a good way of putting it. Maybe a lottery. Just like picking numbers for a lottery, you can choose whatever you want to. I'm probably reading too much into it, but I'm sure it is meant to make a point.

Hillsong is big in my church. People absolutely love their songs. I'm not a great fan. Some of them are horrible songs. I've heard they are corrupt. My nephew actually played with Hillsong once when they came to the UK. He's a great musician. He did tell me a bad thing that happened, but that is the only thing I know of. I would happily never play them, but to be honest, they are such a huge part of worship I can't see it ever happening.

How many Christians have you ever met that said 2Tm4:1-5 APPLIED to them? My guess is NOT one. So, was Paul wrong or are people in denial about how much they really know about Gods word? Well, let's do what 1Jn4:1 tells us to do. Have you studied your bible enough to KNOW there is NOT one verse in God's word that teaches a 7-YEAR tribulation, nor a pre-trib rapture?
