I sure did! Two 12 inchers //made out of nice random parts found in my shed - I mounted up on the wall in places where it made the stereo image work right, And pulled out the amp making sure the wires were correct, they had only left audio hooked up to 6 speakers in random phase haha

Those paradigms were weird. In the future, remove the back panel. There should be screws. The subwoofers however, had an amp plate in the back that the driver could be accessed and even pulled out by removing, so they glued the back panel on. I am currently repairing a paradigm subwoofer (pdr 10 v1) that also has foam rot.

yea man speaker cablets ive got right size to make a rack and they are goodmans too they have strong build so is my bigger ones witch was my dads old 70s rock hmv/goodmans they are a beast got 2 8 inch speakers in one side has 2 RS bass speakers 100w each and other side has 2 hmv load speakers 100w each they both 4 ohms and tweeters are rs dome tweeters and hmv both 8 ohms sound so good plus has 2 thick pieces yellow sponge to blow sound out gives it a punch sound the weird thing it has no holes for air get out

I literally have one or more model from every series of speaker in this video. For instance, this video has the mid-end Aiwa, and I have the base model version (with the plastic basket and same piezo) and the premium one (with an actual 6.5 inch woofer and a real tweeter, plus a piezo. I also have the newer version of those bookshelf speakers, as well as the 5 1/4 inch model, the center model, and the subwoofer. And I have the Realistic Nova 5, not the 7 or 7b. Of course, all of mine work perfectly.

In the future, keep realistic nova speakers that have working tweeters. They are a good set, and built well. Mine are super underrated at 9 watts with a max of 30. I can give them over 30 clipped and they do not get hot.

They’re actually from one of those 90’s all in one stereo systems, with the 3cd changer, dual cassette deck, and tuner in one. Those were most definitely the worst speakers here, but wouldn’t have been unlistenable either. The Realistic speakers, especially the big Nova 7s like these, were good except the easily blown tweeters, and the Paradigms woud’ve been up there with the Realistic ones here if both woofers worked, far ahead of modern-day Polk T15s I’d imagine. I have a similar set of slightly newer Paradigm speakers, and the tweeters on mine are a hard dome design made in-house by paradigm, which I believe to be better sounding than the older Vifa soft domes.

The aiwa speakers were ok to blow out. The other two speakers were not unless they had defective drivers in them and no replacement could be found.

I hate those aiwa speakers, they are everywhere! I had 2 sets of them (4) in my garage leftover from my brother... Blew them all while drinking beer with him one night. One is still on the wall blown because it's up high with a shelf built under it.

Some of the realistic speakers were pretty good, especially the Mach series. The aluminum speakers like the Optimus pro 77' s with 5" woofers and their 4" woofered cousins were great speakers for their size. If nothing else you've got some good cabinets to put newer drivers into to make some Wesome speakers out of. Right now I'm rebuilding a pair of Dyn Acoustics PS10's. All I need for them are a pAir of grills. To keep the Arizona desert dust off of the drivers. As for therotted foam surrounds you can get generic replacements from Parts express, or at least you could have until you friend the voice coils. Shit! As far as the Aiwa speakers, by the time they got to those speakers they were putting some real crappy speakers into the market. Check out the Dayton Audio drivers sold by Parts Express and see if they will work in the Realistic cabs you have . Heck Madisound and any other source you can find to get drivers that will work, it's just that Parts Express makes it easy to do. Good luck and have fun
