I tend to run mine quite loud as often moderate volume only moves the cone about a millimeter. I can't see how that's doing much loosening. My parents' Tevion stereo was still factory stiff after years at "moderate volume", whereas when I turn my room into a dance club, the speakers get nice and loose. It really depends on the size of the speaker. You may have to give your Klipsch Jubilee to a "free party" in a field to break them in.

Yes there is. I worked in car and home audio for many years. The power required to drive a woofer to a given excursion distance when new is greater than after its played for a few hours. You can physically press on a new and used woofer and feel the difference in stiffness. These materials stretch like any other rubber, foam, or fabric products.

@@MrLaserpowered I got new Bowers and Wilkins speakers,an upgrade on the Wharfdale 9.1.Unfortunately as soon as i connected the B&W speakers,i played a record,i wanged up the volume,it hummed and immediately split second wanged the volume right back down.I keep thinking ive knackered the true sound of these speakers.
