Just ordered SS05S floor stands from Fluance. From what I see after assembly there is nothing securing the speaker on the plate. Doesn't this pose a risk to them tipping over?

Bought a used Techniques SL-1300 at an estate sale. Hooked it up today and no sound from right channel. Did a youtube search, thought it might be the rca cables and then I found your video. Pulled of the head shell, cleaned the contacts and voila! Right channel now working. Thanks.

Hello! The wires should be the same lenght both left and right ? Or the same lenght right and different lenght left? For ex 1m left. 2m right
@Rekmeyata9 күн бұрын
What concerns me about Fluance is their lack of VTA adjustment which limits what cart you can use on their turntables. Why do they not have a VTA adjustment? Doesn't seem like a big deal or a big expense to add that feature with a small dial so we can adjust the tonearm height easily. It's that single nagging problem is why I'm still out on a limb about buying the RT85 (the N model is the one I'm considering).

Thank you, this video helped me figure out my issue. I wouldn't have thought of a few of these suggestions. Turning from the built in pre-amp "phono" to "line" setting on my turn table was the solution I needed to eliminate the hum.

I first tried Bi Amping with my Marantz but it was only 110 watts in stereo. I tried it again with my Denon that has a true 110 watts for all 7 channels and it was very noticeable. Way more clean and crisp.

What ? You’re saying you need to “break in” a stylus for 20 hrs before it performs well ? That’s insane. Every stylus and cart should perform perfectly right out of the box or else it’s not being manufactured correctly. Change manufacturers if they tell you this crap.
@Anythingoes88Ай бұрын
Majority of records are out of production, so you can't exchange them. If digitising, there isn't any software that I know of that will correct this, and if there was I wouldn't trust it totally. The spindle of turntables cannot usually be removed allowing it to be centred manually, so a knife with a tapered end (a small kitchen one will do) if used carefully can be used to elongate the hole at the point where the stylus is swinging out the most (mark with a pencil which can be used for future reference), and/or careful use of a round/half round file. Usually the other side needs doing -in a different place, hence the usefulness of a pencil mark arrow to help centre the record when playing it. Sounds drastic I know, but it is a manufacturing fault which needs correcting, and is more common than you think if you check.

I recently bought a 3rd Numark tt-100 turntable that was faulty & for parts & spares. I however gave it ( as always ) a chance at resurrection & I got it working straight away! But there is an sometimes intermittent & sometimes fluctuating hum & buzz when the music is not playing. It isn't terrible, as even low sound hides the buzzing. But I want it gone & I will continue to seek sources to get me there. I had trouble with buzzing from the grounding loop being wonky on 1 of my first pair & sorted that. But I enjoyed this video & to all others out here looking to enjoy quality sounds, good luck with the tinkering & always be safe in doing so! ❤️✌🏼🎼

Good feature on these turntables but they have one flaw! Any 45 RPM record with a short lead out and the motor has a tendency to slow down a bit before reaching the end! That's the only flaw I have and no auto return! Could have done it but no they went cheap here!

After I balance the tonearm and then change the values to 1.8, it’s not balanced anymore. Is that the way it should be?
@FluanceSpeakersАй бұрын
Great question, it should lower the stylus when you lower the cueing lever after setting the tracking force to 1.8. Balancing the tonearm is done to "zero" the tracking force before you set it.

I have had the same MC CARTRIDGE on my turntable for over 7 years now. I am still getting top quality sound reproduction. I play a lot more 45s than albums. My collection consists mainly of records from the 1950s and 60s. All my records are cleaned regularly with a brush and a MOTH RCM CLEANING MACHINE that I have had for over 30 years now. I have been collecting records for over 60 years.

With all due respect, I do not think your description is correct. Your bi-wiring scheme is nothing but a single-wiring as it uses only ONE receiver (amplifier) output and an extra pair of speaker wires in place of the pair of the bridging plates you removed. In fact, what you describe as bi-amping is the real bi-wiring, as TWO separate outputs from a SINGLE power-amp are used to drive each speaker section separately. However, in this case the amps are conserved. For the real bi-amping, one needs TWO SEPARATE amplifiers that drive speaker sections separately. The power amps are then either (i) each connected to one pair of outputs of a two-output control amplifier or (ii) they are daisy-chained and the last in the series is connected to the output of a single-output control amplifier. Bi-amping allows also the use of amplifiers of a different power (weaker for the tweeter and stronger for the bas/midrange section) as long as their gains are the same.

In the Direct Drive ... since the the platter is directly sttached to the motor ... SOUND QUALITY MAY SUFFER ? ? ? HOW, WHY, SAYS WHO ? THE MOTOR SPINS AT THE DESIGNED RPMS, DIRECTLY, NOTHING IN BETWEEN, NO VIBRATIONS, THE MOTOR ELECTRONICALLY SPINS AT 33 1/2 RPMS, WHAT VIBRATIONS ? ALL THE SPECIFICATIONS MEASURED IN LABORATORY, SHOW ALMOST NO FLUTTER, OR WOW, HUNDRED TIMES BETTER THAN A LITTLE MOTOR SPINNING AT HIGH SPEED (CREATING VIBRATIONS) AND MOVING A TURNTABLE THRU A RUBBER BELT THAT DRIES OUT, STRECHES AND SLIPS, MAY SNAP AT ANY MOMENT AND LET YOU HIGH AND DRY.... THIS GUY HAS NO BRAINS OR IS BIASED TOWARDS ILOGIC REASONING, A BUNCH OF BS OR IGNORANCE

Do phono pre's no longer compensate for RIAA curves? It's NEVER mentioned, though it is far more important than increasing gain.
